Pop-Pop "McCoy" Wasn't a Spaniard? He Was Born In Spain, But...

Pop-Pop "McCoy" was probably likely a Jew who fled the remnants of the Inquisition (c. 1485-1492 - 1834), by the way. For such a Spanish-Irish-American Catholic born a pure-blooded Spaniard, he sure didn't name any of his daughters "Mary", "Maria", etc.. Nana McCoy was MaryAnn Elizabeth McCoy of Northern Ireland, and Nana Allen (Mom's maternal grandmother) was the second granchild, Alice Marie Reilly. The first was Anne (or Ann) (c. 1879 - before or in 1900). The others:

Children:
  1. Lavinia (1858-1911)
  2. Lucy (c. 1859 - ?)
  3. Jane (c. 1861 - ?)
(no known marriages or children);

Grandchildren (by Nana (Great-Great-Grandma) Rosa A. McCoy Reilly):

  1. Loretta Rosa,
  2. Sarah Catherine
  3. Helen Lavinia
  4. Philip Leo, Sr. (the only other McCoy-Reilly child who married)
  5. Agnes Genevive "Sister Mary Rosalita, OSM" (who took Mary upon becoming an OSM nun)
Nana (Alice Marie Reilly) Allen's children:
  1. Marguerite M. Allen Loessel
  2. Katherine
  3. Dolores (Died in the 1918 Flu Epidemic)
  4. Eymard Edgar (The Edgar comes from Pop-Pop Allen's name, Edgar Joseph; Pop-Pop Allen, September 26, 1881 - August 21, 1959)
  5. Bernadette Helen Allen Dew
  6. Francis Xavier "X." Allen (December 31, 1921 - November 27 (Thanksgiving Eve) 1974. Mom's paternal granddad).
  7. Aloysius Ignatius "Reverend Steven" Allen (who hated his name)
The "Marys" crawl in the line in which Granddady married into: the Farrell-DeBoy line (Irish and French-Belgian Catholics; and we have State Delegate Steve (D-MD) and actors Paul and PJ DeBoy. One DeBoy subline, apparently not ours, did become Jewish and sadly has Shoah victims among them.). But even now, the Pundt (i.e., DeBoy-Pundt) and Allen granddaughters: Lauren, Kelly, me and Michelle, Jessie, Stephanie, and Olivia and Grace (and none carry the middle name of "Mary", with maybe the exception of Kelly and Jessie-- who have a very Irish-American Catholic mother. And Olivia's and Grace's mother is surprisingly an Italian-American Catholic; and her mother was born in then-Italian Tripoli, but the girls don't carry any form of "Mary" in their names).
