"is geraldo rivera a jewish convert"? Keyword Search Question...

By the way, "thenicolefactor.blogspot" was amazingly a keyword today. Meanwhile, Geraldo's dad was a to-be convert who "promised to convert to Judaism, (which as a lay deacon of the church he never got around to doing)." His mom, Lillian Rivera nee Lillie Friedman, is the eighth child of Isaac Michael and Tillie Krivel Friedman. The widowed Mrs. Rivera specifically stated:

"Being the eighth child of Isaac Michael and Tillie Friedman[,] It never occured to me to ask questions[.] Now all my siblings are gone and I'm almost 84[;] there is no one left to ask. I do
know my Mother came here as a child[.] Her Mother was Rose Krivel[.] Although
I married a Puerto Rican he converted to Judiasm when we married in1940..."

(Punctuation added. Capitalization not corrected.).

Geraldo converted back into Judaism because of then-fiancee, now-fifth-wife Erica Levy:

"Rivera could not be reached for comment, but he told the Post that he is going to “take this whole Judaism thing seriously” from now on.

"While this would be his fifth wedding, Rivera says that it’s his first in a synagogue or church. He did become bar mitzvah as a boy, but he took part in a joint bar mitzvah ceremony with his oldest child, Gabriel, who is now 23."

By the way, this is how seriously URJ Reform Judaism takes Tanakh-- not at all. In fact, being raised in Columbia and not knowing that I am Jewish until much later in life, I can be thankful that I never had exposure to "Rabbit" Amy Scheinerman:

"Reform Jews, however, understand the texts to have been written by human beings -- our ancestors. In my personal opinion, the texts are certainly divinely inspired and reflect our ancestors' best understanding of God and their covenant with God, as well as their view of God's will, but that is not the same as being divinely-authored. Hence, Reform Jews read the texts through the spectacles not only of a religious person, but those of the scholar as well. Some institutions are considered to be a product of the cultural milieu and societal norms of the ancient Near East when the Hebrew Scriptures were written down, and do not speak to our lives today."

Being Episcopalian and raised by two Ex Catholics was enough, todam-- and then going to College of Notre Dame of Maryland was really enough.
