How A Skewed Taglit-Birthright Study Endangers Both the Jewish Community At Large And Will Taglit-Birthright's Reputation

I see plenty of issues with this study:

1) "Saxe and research associates Michelle Shain and Shahar Hecht collected data from August 6-11 via an online questionnaire, which included versions of the Pew survey questions. It was sent to eligible US Birthright Israel-Taglit candidates who had applied for a trip between summer 2011 and winter 2013/14."

There is no real "control" group. There are only Birthright applicants.

2) "Encouraged through an an opportunity to win one of two $100 Amazon.com gift cards, 1,756 young Jewish adults filled out the survey. The respondents included 1,122 who actually did go to Israel on a Birthright trip, and 634 nonparticipants."

The one group that there was, was pooled and divided unevenly. There should've been a total of either:

  1.  878 Birthright travelers and 878 non travelers (still 1,756 people total, and and bringing in a control subgroup of 878 people—because, again, there was no control group; and a control group within a group does not count as a separate control group), or
  2. 1,122 travelers and 1,122 non travelers (keeping the 1,122 travelers who filled out the survey and bringing in a control subgroup).

Either way, the surveyed ("treatment")-to-control group ratio is completely absent, let alone lacking.

3) "For the study, the Birthright applicants’ results were compared to a recent Pew survey and a Gallup poll, both of which were completed at the end of July."

The same problem regarding the subject pool and control groups is here, and data collection is also a problem here. Data from June 21, 2011-December 21, 2013 is older and more plentiful than data from July 2014, for example. Thus, there is no adequate amount of recency and amount of data to compare. In other words, the study would have been less skewed if both sets of data were from June 21, 2011-December 21, 2013; June 21, 2011-July 31, 2014; or July 31, 2014.

4) "Saxe feels the young Jews polled are a representative cross-section of young American Jews for several reasons. Primarily, bluntly, “because Birthright is free — and fun,” said Saxe, meaning the trip doesn’t only draw those who think it’s worth spending money on  a trip to Israel."

Any "representative cross-section of young American Jews" would include Messianic Jews (who are banned from applying to [and even specifically targeted for persecution by] Taglit) and others who Taglit bans .

In fact, the specific wording is in part:

"Eligible individuals are those who identify as Jewish and are recognized as such by their local community or by one of the recognized denominations of Judaism. Applicants must also have at least one Jewish birth parent, or have completed Jewish conversion through a recognized Jewish denomination.

"*Those applying for trips leaving from the Former Soviet Union are eligible if they have at least one Jewish birth grandparent. The accuracy of information pertaining to the heritage of an applicant for a trip leaving from the Former Soviet Union is also verified by a local Consul before an applicant is considered eligible."

This on an international level alone would single out Karaites (who Rabbinate Judaism often slanders) and many other Jews, including Lemba Jews (who go by Patrilineal Descent and are mostly Messianic— despite that most sources try to separate them from the Jewish community at large because they "are Christian" [as if Christianity is not Jewish], etc..). Therefore, this certainly would not allow for just a "representative cross-section of young American Jews".

5) "Saxe said his team has analyzed the backgrounds of those who responded and the profiling is in context with last year’s massive Pew survey study of American Jews. The years of Jewish education, day school all look just about the same, he said, noting one slight difference — Birthright draws a lower proportion of children from intermarriages."

This skews the study as well. The "cross-section" are mostly Rabbinically-Jewish Rabbinical Jews (with a Rabbincally-Jewish Rabbincal Jew being a Jew who has at least one Matrilineally-Jewish parent "[and/]or have completed Jewish conversion through a recognized Jewish denomination".

([Do not kid yourself; Taglit would not look twice at Jews whose family was raised outside of a Rabbinate shul for two or more generations. In other words, for instance, Isaac Kaganowicz would not be considered a Rabbincally-Jewish Rabbincal Jew if both of his parents were Atheistically-raised Jews who were raising Issac in the same way that their parents raised them.)

"Since Taglit was founded in December 1999, annually some 20-25% of candidates have had no prior involvement in Jewish life, said Saxe. “The great piece of Taglit is that it levels the playing field,” said Saxe."

They do go to shul, though. In fact, I had a peer at UMBC who is an Atheist and whose family goes to a Reform shul. So, the "20-25% of candidates" have either parents and/or grandparents who at least go to shul.

6) "Pew doesn’t consider many of the people who went on Taglit to be Jewish because they don’t call themselves Jewish by religion, rather by parentage. “They might not count themselves as Jews until they go on Birthright,” added Saxe."

The Pew data also skews the study.

In other words, the Taglit study (which is called a "Brandeis University" study) is flawed and both dangerous to the Jewish community at large (who, for example, loses numbers according to Taglit-Pew-Saxe standards) and Taglit Birthright itself (and Taglit Birthright has had trouble in the past).

When You Hang Around Jose Baez...

Your brain cells have to go down a bit--or perhaps take a break. Either way, I don't know how Geraldo Rivera could and did form a friendship with Jose Baez, and I don't know how Jose Baez sleeps at night--I couldn't sleep after sneaking an extra shot of Irish Cream for my coffee on Friday (I was up at 7:00 on Saturday confessing to my mom, and I just got the cold on Friday--I needed the sleep, but I couldn't sleep.). How does Jose Baez sleep knowing that Casey Anthony is a murderer who was not sexually abused by her dad?

If nothing else, doesn't he know how Johnnie Cochran died? How much more will a man who was complicit in infanticide die a terrible and horrible death? I couldn't sleep just knowing that brain cancer would be the least of my problems. Also, how does Jose Baez sleep knowing that a man who was complicit in pedophilia--Joe Paterno--just died of cancer? As I asked, how much more will a man who was complicit in infanticide die a terrible and horrible death--though pedophilia and infanticide are almost equally (if not as equally) horrible?

The difference with pedophilia and infanticide is this: the pedophilia victim wishes that he or she is dead, or may even end up dead (whether, such as in the cases of JonBenet Ramsey and Jessica Lunsford, the pedophilia is accompanied with infanticide; or the pedophilia affects the suicide of the victim); whereas the infanticide victim (assuming that he or she does not have pedophilia with which to also deal) is dead.

On that note, what is Jose Baez's claim that Casey Anthony is a victim of pedophilia going to do to real pedophilia victims? For instance, the claim will affect real pedophilia victims to not come forward for dread that they will not be believed or at least stood up for--case in point, Joe Paterno did not stand up for Jerry Sandusky's victims; so one can imagine how a false claim of pedophilia made by an acquitted murderer's attorney will affect other pedophilia victims to be disbelieved and left unspoken for.

In conclusion, I--feeling guilty for even taking an extra shot of Irish Cream and being unable to sleep--cannot imagine how Jose Baez--a man who represented and helped acquit a murderer by claiming that she she was molested as a child, and who will affect real victims of pedophilia to not come forward--sleeps at night. I also cannot imagine how he sleeps at night with a more horrible death than the deaths of Johnnie Cochran and Joe Paterno hanging over his head.

I also can't imagine how and why Geraldo Rivera could and did form a friendship with Jose Baez.

What Does This Have To Do With SB 1070, By The Way?

Jeremiah 23:24

New King James Version (NKJV)
24 Can anyone hide himself in secret places,
So I shall not see him?” says the Lord;
“Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.

This has to do with that ex-Senator Russell Pearce's and Governor Jan Brewer's racist motives were found out. By the way, they're going to have to drop that reasonable-suspicion provision soon--you can't tell whether someone is illegal just by looking at them, what language they speak, etc. Let's drop the whole law, put "McCain-Kennedy" into effect, and not punish the children for their sins:

Ezekiel 18:1-4

New King James Version (NKJV)

A False Proverb Refuted

18 The word of the Lord came to me again, saying, “What do you mean when you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying:
‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
And the children’s teeth are set on edge’?
As I live,” says the Lord God, “you shall no longer use this proverb in Israel.
“Behold, all souls are Mine;
The soul of the father
As well as the soul of the son is Mine;
The soul who sins shall die.

Meanwhile, we should also take away any children who are trafficked across the border and put them up for adoption--no more DREAMers, no more trafficking children, no more excuses. The exception would be if the parent or guardian had an emergency and a good reason for bringing his or her child or trustee across the border with him or her. To drag children across the border and use them as pawns is never okay.

Repost: As A Jew, I Thoroughly Resent Any Portrayal of Jesus As Black or White

Dr. Marylin Kulik of Berkely College cites a fairly-often-used map that suggests, if not shows, that Jesus was Olive-- not Black (shakar), White (lavan), Yellow (tzahov), Red ('Adom, though 'Adam was 'Adom, but Iraqi 'Adom-- red or ruddy), or Brown (hum), but Olive (zayit). The Diaspora (HaGalut) left many of us looking all the different colors, though some of us retained the Olive complexion (including the Olive complexion in my own Ashkenazic Jewish family).

So the more that I'm becoming aware and getting closer to my Jewish heritage, the more that I resent any portrayal of Jesus as Black or White.

Repost: So I Found Krystal "Krystal Keith" Covel's Twitter Account, But...

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2011

So I Found Krystal "Krystal Keith" Covel's Twitter Account, But...

I really don't see her promoting it (See @KrystalKeith.). She's also, for example, using her dad's name and not her family name ("Covel") or married name ("Sandubrae"), and her first single is a song that she wrote for her wedding-- "Daddy Dance With Me". She even is on her dad's label and she isn't breaking out as much as she could be even on the label:

"”She sang all her life, of course. But getting in the studio, she was a little anxious. She sang her butt off today.” He adds, “I’ve never worked in the studio with her very much. When we did ‘Mockingbird,’ I wasn’t there for when she laid her vocals down.” So is dad pretty easy on his little girl? Keith admits, “Unfairly, I’m probably a little harder on her. But the other artists came in and I said, ‘I won’t step in too much until you guys ask me to.’ And with her it’s like she wants me to take the lead on it.”"

You can Google if you want to read more about Krystal. But unless Krystal makes some major changes, she'll be known only as Toby Keith's daughter and not as a country singer in her own right.

Update: By the way, here's some excellent pictures of her from Twitter. She really looks like both parents. Also, the album has yet to be released and she has yet to break from the Oklahoma scene. She could go far if she wanted to break from being a Covel/Keith in terms of the music business. She should use "Sandubrae" and stay away from her dad's "I Love This Bar" restaraunts for right now.

Not That I'm Self Exalting, But...

I'm just as "what you see is what you get" as Geraldo Rivera. I don't hide ish (pun highly intended. If you don't understand what "ish" is in Hebrew and is in English, Google it.). I criticize even my own family and the most central member in the family (next to G-d) to me-- me. I know me as well as I know me, and know me better than I know anyone else. But even G-d knows me better than I know me.

By the way, you have a problem if you're not the most central member of your family (next to G-d) to you. Who are you if you don't know who you are and why you are who you are? For example, I thought that I was a Dark Irish, German-French, Polish-Lithuanian-Czechoslovakian American before I knew that I'm an Anusit-- or was an Anusit. Now because I'm not a Crypto Jew and I even know that I'm a Jew in the first place, I can confidently be a Patrilineally-Jewish Messianic Jew with Ashkenazic Jewish- (hold your breath) Polish-Russian, Polish-Ukrainian-Russian, perhaps Lithuanian-Belorussian, Slovakian-Hungarian, Slovakian-Austrian-Hungarian, and Slovakian-Russian blood (I warned you to hold your breath. I just gave you a long list of the Ashkenazic Jewish blood that I have.).

As for the gentile blood (I think, though some could very well be Jewish blood); it's a long list, too. Want the list? E-mail me or comment on this blog. The list is as extensive and contains just as much information that you might need. By the way, where are relatives e-mailing me? Also by the way, ain't that fun that I'm probably related to Kirk Douglas (nee Issur Danielovich)? (I was being sarcastic about the "fun" part. Having Jack Czarnecki, Mary Gaydos, and Mia Danilowicz-- among others-- as relatives is enough.)

Unless By Some Miracle, the Old Page Isn't Coming Back...

Yesterday's post explains more. Let's just say that (unless I become aware that the page was actually buggy and not reported) some very-vicious and -unjust people reported the page because they couldn't take accountability and responsibility. The old page may come back someday; and if that day comes, I'll link the old and new pages. Up to 44 people liked the old page at last count; only four like the new page. And valuable pictures and copies thereof, posts, etc. are gone; and some are not available for the new page.

As I said; my only vindication is that G-d will vindicate me and rebuke the vicious and unjust people, and that this page is a clean slate. However, if you want or still want to, kindly bug Facebook to bring back the old page (http://www.facebook.com/nicoleczarneckiakanickidewbear).

I'm Pretty Confident That the Old Page Isn't Being Just Buggy...

I know by now that the page, if not just being buggy, was reported unfairly and unjustly by certain people who couldn't handle being called to account to do their jobs, and reported the accounting as bullying. If you want more details, read this post. As I asked before:

If you could help get "Nicole Czarnecki (aka, "Nickidewbear")" at http://www.facebook.com/nicoleczarneckiakanickidewbear restored, I'd appreciate it. You were able to bug certain people... when I needed help and reaching out to... I know that you can certainly rally for Facebook to restore http://www.facebook.com/nicoleczarneckiakanickidewbear, as I myself am trying to do...

So, if you follow and befriend me on YouTubeFacebook (with the new, backup page at present), and Twitterplease do what you did during my time of need... and kindly bug Facebook in the same way. Thank you, and Merry Christmas, L'Hanukkah Tovah v'Shabbat Shalom, and Happy New Year.

Getting My Old Facebook Page Restored, And I Don't Think That There's Just a Bug...

If you could help get "Nicole Czarnecki (aka, "Nickidewbear")" at http://www.facebook.com/nicoleczarneckiakanickidewbear restored, I'd appreciate it. You were able to bug certain people at Chapelgate (who are a major part of why I never want to talk about or go to Chapelgate again) when I needed help and reaching out to (which they certainly did not give, and in fact gave me quite the opposite of-- in other words, negative and unhelpful outreach, to generously say the least). I know that you can certainly rally for Facebook to restore http://www.facebook.com/nicoleczarneckiakanickidewbear, as I myself am trying to do. I have already sent them three e-mails generously explaining that there may be a bug involved; but I think that those certain people unjustly and unfairly reported that page. My only vindication concerning them, meanwhile, is that G-d is just and will rebuke them in time.

So, if you follow and befriend me on YouTubeFacebook (with the new, backup page at present), and Twitterplease do what you did during my time of need when I still affiliated with a certain church and kindly bug Facebook in the same way. Thank you, and Merry Christmas, L'Hanukkah Tovah v'Shabbat Shalom, and Happy New Year.

If I Wasn't 12 When I Was Told That Santa Claus Wasn't Real....

I would still be writing to Santa Claus. At 21, I have some desires that I can't get from my mom and that G-d doesn't seem to be giving me. I also read (I think) that St. Nicholas (who died in 345 A.D. (C.E.)) was an Anti Semite. But were St. Nicholas of Myra still alive and not Anti Semitic (though maybe I was confusing him with another Nicholas), I'd write to Santa Claus to give me these ten desires if he could:

  1. To find the one for me-- self explanatory
  2. To have dreams and visions that I need-- even the loner is content with dreams and visions; and if he or she uses them right, won't be lonely in the end. Yosef ben-Ya'akov wasn't.
  3. To have the Rapture come-- self explanatory if you think about it
  4. The fourth would be for more interaction and popularity at least on  Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter-- self explanatory
  5. To find more relatives and family information-- you can't be lonely knowing that you're part of a family and having at least some relatives who care and, for once, believe you about at least certain things.
  6. To have a pet-- self explanatory
  7. To have some political cartoons published-- you can't be too lonely with some fame.
  8.  To get my novels finished and published--  you can't be too lonely with some fame.
  9. To firmly confirm the establishment of my Jewish lineage and find more family info, and have the unsaved in my dad's and mom's families saved while the saved ones grow in faith--  you can't be lonely knowing that you're part of a mishpacha and having at least some relatives who care and, for once, believe you about at least certain things; especially if your relatives are going to Heaven with you.
  10.  To get through college successfully and to make aliyah if I can-- you can't be too lonely with some potential and success, and being where 'amikhaare.

Repost: What Is With Everyone Suing and Prosecuting Everyone Nowadays?

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2011

What Is With Everyone Suing and Prosecuting Everyone Nowadays?

For example, Dr. Conrad Murray-- who should've lost his license but not been prosecuted. What; are my family going to be prosecuted for my aunt Mary Carole's death in 2008 when she decided not to take her insulin that day and was a determined alcoholic, anyway? We couldn't have done anything about her. And Justin Bieber-- honestly, don't sue the woman. Besides, you, Mr. Bieber, pulled a Herman Cain-- responded to legitimate allegations too late and amatuerly.

Save the prosecution for those like my granddad who ought to be prosecuted for the 2007 malice-murder-intent scenario and Social Security fraud regarding my great-grandmother Mary Trudnak Czarnecki. Save the suing for real discrimination, theft, and other lawsuit-worthy cases. Don't be frivolous or unjust in suing or prosecuting. The Criminal Justice and Corrections System in America is clogged up enough. Also-- as with Mr. Bieber--, why not resolve matters as soon as possible instead of a long time later if you have nothing to hide and something legitimate to contend?

Besides, 1 Corinthians 6 reads in part:

Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? 2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? 4 If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge? 5 I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren? 6 But brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers!
7 Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated? 8 No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you dothese things to your brethren! 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[a] nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

Is the NIV Apostate? By Its Own Admission In Its Latest Version, Yes....

"Since it was first created in the 1970s, the goal of the New International Version of the Bible has been to allow Bible readers to see as much of the form and structure of the original languages as possible, while at the same time making the meaning of the Bible clear in modern English. In every verse the NIV uses the best available evangelical scholarship and the best available data on contemporary English usage to communicate God's unchanging Word as clearly as possible. Working directly from the best-attested ancient biblical manuscripts, NIV translators meet yearly to monitor changes in biblical scholarship.  The latest edition of the NIV Bible represents the fruit of this constant quest for accuracy.
"One area on which the translators concentrated in particular for the 2011 update to the NIV was gender language. Whenever the original languages use words that are clearly intended to communicate to men and women equally, the updated NIV uses words that will be understood that way in English, like 'humans', 'people' or 'mankind'. Whenever the original languages use words that are intended to communicate specifically male ideas, like the names of God for example, the updated NIV uses words like 'he' and 'him'."

First, with the language cosmetics: unacceptable. "Whenever the original languages use words that are clearly intended to communicate to men and women equally" is understood in the original language; and when, as in most languages, the male tense is used to refer to either a masculine, or both- or neither-gender tenses. Also, "changes in biblical scholarship", which is often fickle at best nowadays, should not dictate a translation. The Holy Spirit first and foremost should (as even the Non-Messianic Jews at Yavneh recognized). Most biblical scholarship looks to discredit, not prove, the Bible.
Secondly, per Biblical scholarship itself: "Rabbi" Amy Scheinerman of the Union for Reform Judaism gives us insight into this:
"Reform Jews, however, understand the texts to have been written by human beings -- our ancestors. In my personal opinion, the texts are certainly divinely inspired and reflect our ancestors' best understanding of God and their covenant with God, as well as their view of God's will, but that is not the same as being divinely-authored. Hence, Reform Jews read the texts through the spectacles not only of a religious person, but those of the scholar as well. Some institutions are considered to be a product of the cultural milieu and societal norms of the ancient Near East when the Hebrew Scriptures were written down, and do not speak to our lives today."
"Rabbi" Scheinerman's and most Reform Jews' views reflect the purpose of Biblical scholarship in this day and age: to "read the texts through the spectacles not only of a religious person, but those of the scholar as well"; not read the texts through the Holy Spirit and test everything against the Holy Spirit. Scripture is very clear:
  1. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil. (From 1 Thessalonians 5, NKJV)
  2.  1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that[a] Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. (1 John 4:1-3, NKJV)

I Wonder Why I Bother Sometimes...

Suicide looks better. Firstly, I'd be in Heaven (I'm a Christian, so I know where I'm by-grace going.), and I wouldn't have to wait for the Rapture. Secondly, Mom, Michelle, and others (including many who'd like to see me dead and/or never really cared, anyway) would be left to pick up the mess that I leave behind. Also, for what being more known in death than life is worth, I'd be more known in death than life-- I even prewrote my own obituary in case something does happen to me, though (G-d willing) I might have to go back and edit it. At least an obituary, a Facebook, a Twitter, and other updates, and other ways of communication are coverage.

Thirdly, I'm a survivor of a suicide attempt from when I was eight to ten years old. Long story short, after I foolishly erased my Pokemon game on the advice of a "friend", I threatened to stab myself-- with the knife in my hand. I chickened out and put the knife down and away from me.

Fourthly, I'm the survivor of a suicide threat-- I ended up at Sheppard Pratt for that threat, and quite a few of my dad's family don't believe what happened even though the Sheppard Pratt incident finally helped provoke the courts to believe what happened. Fifthly, as I've implied, I'm more disliked than liked for good and bad; and as I said, others would be left to pick up the mess that I leave behind. For some of them, picking up my mess would be pure punishment and judgement against them.

I could go on; but as an endnote, I also consider that children in the Third World segments of the human population have a fate better than mine (since they get, for example, plenty of reward in Heaven and not as much judgement because of what they've suffered and because of the "to whom much is given" standard-- including the age of accountability implication). Sexual abuse victims even also have a better fate than mine because some of them parallel (and sometimes even are) the children in the Third World-- they get sympathy and people who'll help them at some point and juncture, some reward in Heaven just for their suffering alone, etc..

With me; my situation's like, who the hell (including my own church) cares (or really or ultimately cares) about a 'mamzerah' Messianic Jew with Cerebral Palsy, OCD/Anxiety/Depression, and mild-enough Cerebral Palsy that she can (seemingly) get by?

I Just Ordered A Free Book, And...

I have a free book to give away in a few days or so for any fellow Jew who's more curious about Jesus. If you

want the book, e-mail me. If you decide to keep the book and even later utilize it for your own purposes, keep

it. If not, give the book to a loved one or loved one's loved one, or an acquaintance or whoever else is Jewish

and is curious about Jesus (Yeshua).

The book is not intended to be returned; so as I said, give the book to a loved one or loved one's loved one, or

an acquaintance or whoever else is Jewish
and is curious about Yeshua if you don't intended to keep it. The

book is not meant for gentiles-- they can go to church, or to the public library, or to more gentile-demographic

places to find books about Yeshua for gentiles.

In Fairness to Goly'at, David Would Be Ashamed At Likud's and Beiteinu Yisrael's Behavior...

Let's be fair about the Palestinians: having Haredi Likud, Yisrael Beiteinu, and similar parties can't fair (actually, "fare"; but we could say "fair") well for

them. While Yisra'el belongs to David, there's no reason to provoke Goly'at in a Jewish Supremacist way. Self

defense is okay; Jewish Supremacy is not. By the way, not all gentiles (especially Arabs and descendants

thereof) in the Middle East have oil.

Philista is Palestine.

How To Use Blogger To Do Schoolwork

As I was sitting there and about to save one of my Introduction to Corrections essays for home, a proverbial figurative lightbulb went off: I could use Blogger to draft the essay, then finalize it at home and in Microsoft Word. As my piano professor said, study and practice in spurts throughout the day-- like taking small meals-- instead of huge timeslots. In the same way, I could use a for-right-now hobby (which could become a career) to study and make use of time that could've been otherwise procrastination or eventual boredom.

I wrote my first draft of my reflection, take-home essay on Blogger (and wergild is still a hard word to remember how to spell). Using Word, I double-checked "wergild" before replacing "weirgald" with it. By the way, I've similarly done at-home Sociology assignments on Blogger.

In conclusion, I used social media to make the grade and share knowledge with both my professor (so that he can see that I learned in class) and with the world and fellow people who are only in (and not of) the world (to prove that, while I'm not the brightest bulb in the bunch, I'm not the dullest bulb, either).
