The "Missionary" vs. the Anti or Counter Missionary

"Isaiah 42:5-9
New King James Version (NKJV)

5 Thus says God the LORD,
Who created the heavens and stretched them out,
Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it,
Who gives breath to the people on it,
And spirit to those who walk on it:
6 “ I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness,
And will hold Your hand;
I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people,
As a light to the Gentiles,
7 To open blind eyes,
To bring out prisoners from the prison,
Those who sit in darkness from the prison house.
8 I am the LORD, that is My name;
And My glory I will not give to another,
Nor My praise to carved images.
9 Behold, the former things have come to pass,
And new things I declare;
Before they spring forth I tell you of them.”"

This verse is often interpreted as Yisra'el's call to be ha ner el ha goyim-- "the light to the nations".

Isaiah 2:3
Many people shall come and say, “ Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Micah 4:2
Many nations shall come and say, “ Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion the law shall go forth, And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

These verses are also part of Yisra'el's being as ha ner el ha goyim. There are missions of outreach such as JewFAQ.org (which is insidiously Antimissionary) and the Outreach Judaism Haredi, all the way down to Reform, movements-- all of which with few exceptions are very Antimissionary.

The "Missionary" or Jewish Christian (Messianic Jewish) movement applies Yesha'yahu 42:5-9 in its original context-- as a fulfilled prophecy concerning Mashiach:

(Emphasis mine)

 Thus says God the LORD,
Who created the heavens and stretched them out,
Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it,
Who gives breath to the people on it,
And spirit to those who walk on it:
6 “ I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness,
And will hold Your hand;
I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people,
As a light to the Gentiles,
7 To open blind eyes,
To bring out prisoners from the prison,
Those who sit in darkness from the prison house.
8 I am the LORD, that is My name;
And My glory I will not give to another,
Nor My praise to carved images.
9 Behold, the former things have come to pass,
And new things I declare;
Before they spring forth I tell you of them.”"

In the last section of TaNaKH ("H" for "Hadashah"), we find this parsha from Mattiyahu 28:

Matthew 28:18-20

New King James Version (NKJV)
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore[a] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.[b]

Indisputably clear is that a Jewish or gentile Christian (especially a Jewish Christian in the "Missionary" regard) is not to force his or her faith on anyone, Jewish or gentile:

  1. Matthew 10:14
    And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.
  2. Mark 6:11
    And whoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”
  3. Luke 9:5
    And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”
  4. Acts 13:51
    But they shook off the dust from their feet against them, and came to Iconium.

I Stand By What I Said About Pop-Pop Re Him Being A Murderer

But now that Casey Anthony and Amanda Knox are both acquitted, and though solid evidence is against Pop-Pop (e.g. Great-Grandma's SSDI record); there just may not be enough to pursue the case against him. I hope that Aunt Mary (and Mom) finally agree to reinitiate prosecution against Pop-Pop. Remember what we're looking at here: second-degree murder with murder-malice intent and first-degree Social Security fraud. As I explained on Great-Grandma's public-figure Facebook page which I made for her re her case:

Originally Written to the Pennsylvania Attorney General

by Mary M. Trudnak Czarnecki- and Justice For Her on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 1:41am

By the way, the Luzerne County District Attorney did call Jack Czarnecki, and he angrily called a family member of the primary witness- whose name I am protecting for the interim. I obviously did not protect the name from the Pennsylvania AG or the Luzerne DA.

In a message dated 5/22/2010 7:53:21 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, Nickidewbear@aol.com writes:

I am hoping, therefore, that the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, Criminal Prosecutions Section investigates the death of Mrs. Czarnecki and the circumstances of what I believe was the murder of Mrs. Czarnecki by her son Jack Czarnecki as soon as possible. I have notified the witness aforementioned, [Protected], that I have made the request of an investigation to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office; and will (if and as necessary) either have [Protected] contact the party or parties to be involved in the prosecution of Mr. Czarnecki, or (with and only with her permission) provide her contact information to the aforementioned parties. Thank you for your time and work in seeking justice for Mary M. Trudnak Czarnecki.
Mrs. Czarnecki, as aforementioned, passed away due to gangrene on February 12, 2007 at Wilkes Barre General Hospital.
At the hospital, Mrs. Czarnecki gave the delegation of Power of Attorney over her to [Protected]. Due to circumstances beyond [his or her] control, [Protected] could not retain [his or her] delegation as Power of Attorney for [his or her relative]; and [his or her relative] Jack thus took over the delegation. Mr. Jack Czarnecki then arranged that his mother would have a surgery to have Mrs. Czarnecki's gangrene-infected limb (specifically, one of her legs) amputated and post-surgically discarded. Mrs. Czarnecki, obviously given the position that she was in, consented to the surgery but had to fight to have her amputated leg not discarded (since she intended to have the leg buried with her when she passed away).
The situation concerning Mrs. Czarnecki's death began when Mrs. Czarnecki was, during an illness of gangrene, transported to Wilkes-Barre Hospital due to Mr. Jack Czarnecki's desire to rid her from his residence as she was dying and he had other plans besides looking after his ailing mother. As I summarize the situation for the time being as I understand it, Mrs. Czarnecki, 93, knew that she was dying and wanted to pass away at her son's Millersville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland home; but Mr. Czarnecki (70 at the time, now to be 74 on May 25, 2010), wanting to travel to Las Vegas and not honor the wishes of his mother, arranged to have her transported to Wilkes Barre General.
I understand the circumstances of Mrs. Czarnecki's death to have been mainly or solely caused by Mr. Jack Czarnecki (who, at the time, was given Power of Attorney over her), and have been told of the circumstances by a reliable and direct eyewitness-earwitness to the crime. The witness (and I am asking that for the time being, her name be protected. Anyway, the witness) is [Protected]; who was frequently with Mrs. Czarnecki at the time of Mrs. Czarnecki's death, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.I have decided to contact the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, Criminal Prosecutions Section per the February 12, 2007 death of Mary M. Trudnak Czarnecki. I am requesting an investigation into the death of the late Mrs. Czarnecki because I believe that for over three years, her son John "Jack" Gregory Czarnecki caused Mrs. Czarnecki (his mother) to die in the circumstances and situation in which he should have been immediately investigated at minimum for third- or second-degree murder/homicide with implied murder-malice theory, and a maximum of second- or first-degree murder/homicide with malicious intent.
"

I was later corrected and told that she consented to being transported to the hospital and the surgery. Then again, what choice did she have? Had she not consented, he would have (for a lack of a better term) done her in. She resignedly and helplessly consented. At 93 and as frail as she was, she was as helpless as a child.
In a message dated 6/2/2010 10:24:20 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [Protected]@attorneygeneral.gov writes:
The Criminal Law Division of the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General is in receipt of your recent email. The jurisdiction of the Attorney General to investigate and prosecute criminal activity is strictly limited by state law. An investigation into the death of your great-grandmother would be a matter for review by the county district attorney. If you have not already done so, we recommend that you communicate your concerns directly to the Luzerne County District Attorney's Office.
Dear Ms. Czarnecki:

Some Fellow Messianic Jews Can Be Quite Disingenuous

"Jesus" is simply English for "Ieosus" (Ιεοσυς) or "Yeshua" (
Yeshua
). Any Messianic Jew who states that he or she is not a Christian (from the Syrian meant-to-be perjorative, but-turned-identifying-and-complimentary "follower of Christ) or a follower of the Jewish Christ (Kristos, Kristos; Mashiach,
Mashiach
) is only, inadvertently or deliberately (and sinfully, perhaps even as a false Christian or believer), helping the Antimissionaries.

Part of Why Some Jews Leave Non-Messianic Judaism And Even Come To Abandon or Even Hate Their Jewishness

There are even Jews who fall into this category; some for more understandable reasons than others. For example, see an important article by the Baltimore Jewish Times on sexual abuse in the Jewish community. The interviewee even states, " “I am basically anti-Semitic. I like Jews, but I just need to stay away from them."

Where are the Antimissionaries dealing with sexual and other abuse in the Jewish community, by the way? And another example of one who left Non-Messianic Judaism partly because of sexual abuse: Ruth McBride Jordan, nee Ruchel Dvorjah Szylska (and I recommend the book The Color of Water, which gives Mrs. Jordan's full story as she told her son) .

Diaspora Jews Are More Afraid of Messianic & Karaite Jews Than Israelis

This is just the overall audience from 0:00 to 23:00 by country from today under the "Day" category, which leads me to believe that especially gentile converts to Judaism and fellow American Jews need to relax a little bit.

A Roustabout With the Antimissionaries, Which They Started

I personally love when the Antimissionaries prove themselves to be intolerant and incapable of thinking for themselves. After all, the dvarim written down by Paul are fulfilled: "Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers." Furthermore, "even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart." I personally have to remind myself that when fellow Jews reject Jesus, they are only hurting themselves and helping-- not hurting-- the supposedly-dreadful missionaries.

One believer had legit concerns about some content in the Jews for Jesus group on Facebook, and so our conversation went like this:

[Believer] There's a lot of junk on this wall. I would like for someone to moderate this group, please.

Nicole Czarnecki But don't worry about it. After all, as I told one Antimissionary, "your intolerance...is astounding and will succeed only in defeating your Antimissionary goals." The Antimissionaries do themselves no good.

[Believer] Thanks, Nicole. I'm not worried about the anti-missionaries... it's the weird posts that are completely off-topic that disturb me. I'm worried about new believers getting confused... but on the selfish side, I do come here for uplift, and the junk bums me out. ( :

Nicole Czarnecki I know what you mean. And there are legalists and conspiracy theorists
 here. I can see why my dad and his parents refuse belief in Yeshua because of them. After all, their parents (both of her parents, one a despicable
 traitor to relatives who died in the Holocaust because of her; and his dad, an Anusi who escaped the pogroms at the age of three years) were Anusim (and
 part of Great-Grandma Gaydos' excuse for betrayal was her Anusitkeit, I suppose. By the way, I'm still working on what Hebrew and Yiddish I was not passed down.).

By the way, I love how the Antimissionaries are so presumptuous and arrogant as to speak to a Kosice Rusnak (which I am) and a cousin of Vilgelm Andrulevich (see JewishGen.org and Ancestry.com), and the granddaughter of a former IRS agent and cousin of an aspiring fashion designer like that. Only one of the introduced connections would defend me, I'm afraid; nonetheless, I am like some of the nevi'im and others in that I have some connections and am not just an ishah shel ha'aretz.

The Antimissionaries Get More Vile Every Day

This probably won't be posted, but I told Skylar Curtis, the antimissionary blogger whose work I take serious issue with, the following: "Were you even born Jewish? If not, knock off the Antimissionarism and let Jews read "A Set Apart Life" and come to their own conclusion about Jesus. As a Jew, I can tell you that you have no place in trying to prevent other Jews from considering the Jewish Jesus of Nazareth if you're not Jewish yourself."

Here's Skylar's vile and hutzpah-laced entry: "Do Not Read the Blog 'A Set Apart Life'"

Here are some of the insidious excerpts, filled with the very things which she labels "A Set Apart Life"'s entries and condemns, with my commentary:

There is a blog out there that you should not read if you are pursuing Jewish conversion or believe in Judaism. It's called A Set Apart Life.

That blog is about messianic Judaism, NOT Judaism. Even though it may have Judaism in the name, messianic Judaism rejects Judaism and uses its rituals and traditions to further their proselytizing at Jews to accept Jesus as savior.

Messianic Jews (Jewish Christians) do not reject Judaism. In fact, we simply believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Beginning and End of Judaism and Jewishness (which is a long discussion, and probably one which you may have had before).

I purposely posted that "hot-button" post so that it would show on her blog's page and bring this idea to her reader's attentions. I am offended by this blog, and I am even more offended that my blog is being used to bolster her own credibility among Jewish conversion candidates.

Maybe I'm reading Nehemia Gordon (a Non-Messianic Karaite) wrong, but I believe that even he's implied that P'rushim ("rabbi"nates)-- at least like Skylar Curtis-- don't want people thinking for themselves. Instead of Skylar being so offended, perhaps she ought to (so to speak and as would be the case in her eyes) encourage people to know what the "enemy" (the dreaded Missionary) is saying.

In other words, this blogger is a wolf in sheep's clothing. If you come from an evangelical background, you can catch the otherwise innocuous (if strange to Jewish ears) phrases she uses that refer to very specific Christian ideas, such as "stay at home daughter."

There are many stay-at-home daughters, wives, and mothers-- in fact, many who aren't allowed to leave home-- in Judaism, especially in the shtetlach such as Crown Heights and Northwest Baltimore.

Messianic Jews...if we want to talk to you about your faith, we will find you. Stop tricking us into listening to you by acting like you are imparting Jewish ideas so that you can spring your agenda on us at a later time. That is just plain insidious, unethical, and creepy. And it certainly violates the way Hashem wants us to live our lives.

We're following the Great Commission and the Light to the Nations. What about you, Ms. Curtis? Also, we're not forcing ourselves on you (We allow you to "choose this day who you will serve."). Also, we use TaNaKh to support our ideas. And what about you? Is your faith so weak that you have to rely on fallible "rabbis" and not TaNaKh itself? And to Nehemia Gordon's and other Non-Messianic Karaites' credits, they do rely on TaNaKh to believe in what they believe in and why they believe in it.
