Why Cancer Survivor Day Is Not (As Cynics Would Allege) Just Another Cancer Lobby Hallmark Holiday

A friend made me aware that today is Cancer Survivor Day and asked that I make others aware of it. I'd be remiss to not do so, given that cancers of all kinds are in my gene pool and in my family otherwise—I have a BRCA mutation for example; and people thought that I was being funny or whatever—they can ask Katherine Czarnecki Chokola, z"l; she died of Breast Cancer. They can ask her cousin Tony's son Jack, whom survived Colon Cancer and later died of Leukemia (partly because, I'm sure, the Colon Cancer affected him despite that he survived it).

With that, Dad has Chron's (which is linked to Colon Cancer) and I have IBS (and I do not buy for a second that IBS and Chron's are not linked). Point being, I am well aware that cancer is not a game, gimmick, joke, etc.; and I would have never claimed to have a BRCA mutation were the evidence of it not in my own family line. By the way, part of why I volunteer for the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network is because of the medical history of cancer in my family, not to mention that Bladder Cancer patient Kevin Williamson (who takes the newly-discovered drug to treat Bladder Cancer) had "unbearable gas" that made him aware of his Bladder Cancer (and with IBS, gas and the bladder are linked—so, imagine adding Bladder Cancer to that!)

That's also something about which I ask people to think on Cancer Survivor Day: those charities, walk-a-thons, etc. are not games, gimmicks, jokes, etc.

By the way, I just remembered: Michael Douglas is a cancer survivor, given that he had Throat/Oral/whatever kind of cancer; and his father had some kind of cancer, too (So's being a Danilovich—and I've discussed that whole megillah before!).

A Darker Side Of D-Day

D-Day came too late for many Jews and others whom were trapped in Nazi and Soviet Europe. One of them was one of the Andrulewiczes, Antoni Andrulewicz (חנניה בן יוחנן הכוהן אנדרולוביץ, ז''ל והי''ד). 

According to what Ogrodywspomnien.pl cited, he was "arrested" (read "kidnapped"), "held hostage in the Suwalki prison" for almost three months (March 13-June 6, 1944), and murdered by asphyxiation with other victims of a "mass execution" (read, quite frankly, "mass lynching"), and put into a mass grave at the murder site.



Remember that not all Sho'ah victims fit the profile of the oft-described Sho'ah victim—and certainly, not all lived to be victims whom became liberated survivors. Because he was a ben Anusim, he (like other bnei Anusim in Non-Hispanic Europe) got overlooked (despite that Anusim and bnei Anusim were not only in Iberia and not only during the Spanish Inquisition). Also, an account from another Andrulewicz—Boleslaw Andrulewicz—makes quite clear that the Andrulewiczes were not counted as Poles; and there is no record of any Andrulewicz ever smuggling or helping smuggle papers or ration cards—in fact, one Andrulewicz kept under the radar of the Nazis and the Soviets by moving from parish to parish in Lithuania with constant and seemingly-chaotic movements between 1938 and 1948.

As has been said, ****** didn't care whether Jews were Rabbinical, Karaite, or Non-Rabbinical and Non-Karaite Jews; and many continue to leave millions of those whom were counted for murder out of the count of those whom are to be remembered ("[B]ut for Thy sake are we killed all the day; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter."). 

Even 72 years after D-Day, only 6-11 Million victims of the Sho'ah (not counting the gentile ones) are counted and remembered for a blessing; and Stalin, despite that he had his equivalent of a "Final Solution", is remembered as part of the Yalta Three whom led the armed forces that liberated Jews from Auschwitz and other murder ("concentration") camps (and lets be clear: the "concentration" camps were not designed to be anything but murder camps). 

Even 72 years later, then, Israel is still not even remotely close to liberated from the Nazis—how can Israel even begin to be liberated when his murdered sons and daughters are still not fully counted and what he endured in, e.g., murder camps is minimized? 

On Missing Someone

Actually. I miss quite a few people—even ones whom hate me and/or couldn't be gladder that I'm out of their lives for whatever reason, and the reason is that they usually cut me off (whether rightly or wrongly) for whatever reasons. I've written about some of these people before, by the way; and I've even yet to write about some of them.

Some of the people whom I miss, for example:

1. Diane Magruder, whom my sister and I called "Ms. Diane": Ms. Diane was actually the one whom referred us to Reilly's breeder when I was talking about getting a puppy—and she got to meet Reilly before she died. She didn't get to meet Cam, though, although we know that she'll get to meet Cam and see Reilly again one day—and I was thinking about her when I visited Cam's sister Shelby and Shelby's family today, and they talked about how they referred someone to Joyce (Reilly's, Cam's, and Shelby's breeder). When I mentioned how Ms. Diane referred us to Joyce (and how Joyce and other good breeders get a bad name because of pseudo-breeder puppy millers), I also mentioned how Ms. Diane met Reilly on the final day that we saw her—and thought about how she was markedly different after her brother died, which she mentioned, and as ALS took her life, about which we didn't know until we got the call one day from another one of her friends—she wanted to spare us, I suppose, of knowing that she was in the throes of ALS and dying from it.
2. Many family members, quite a few whom I too often took for granted. To be fair, I'm still dealing with a lot of my own issues (and some of the family members had their own issues, as well as common issues, in regards to other family members); and there were other factors which contributed to hardly being able to see them, etc.. Still, I never even got to see sides of them that others had known or ask them questions that I could've and should've asked when I had the chance.
3. Quite a few family friends, including to whom I'd send my writings—including the writings which went into "The Real Stories", and stories about Reilly. While I send pictures of Reilly to two of the friends and I used to be able to send pictures of Reilly to the one friend (the dear friend, father figure, and writing mentor to whom I a biography of Reilly which I wrote for writing practice), having sent them pictures of Reilly as well as e-mailing my writings to them is not the same as being able to talk to them face to face. Besides, only one of them has ever met Reilly, and Reilly has yet to meet any of their furbabies (one of whom is an elder of Reilly, a Golden Retriever named Angel).

As far as I know, by the way, Reilly does and would love them all—as she's certainly loved the ones whom she's met, even though she won't see some of them again until the World To Come comes.

One of the stories that I sent regards when Reilly escaped to see Leo (which happened shortly before the first anniversary of her homecoming). 

A Few Reasons That YouTube Needs To Restore Its Webcam-Upload Technology, Or In Short....

Some people literally used the YouTube webcam-upload technology to make their livings, or at least parts of their livings, sometimes even as YouTube partners. Other people used the YouTube webcam-upload technology to try to get their foots in the doors, and even others used the webcam-upload technology to open up their professional—and personal—worlds to others, and quite often to help others.

Examples include:

1. Myself. I'm trying to get my foot in the door, help others, etc.—a number of videos talk about subjects that I cover in "The Real Stories"
2. Guitar teacher and worship leader Daniel Choo—unless I speak out of turn and arrogance, I can reasonably ascertain that Daniel Choo had an easier time doing more-frequent covers when the webcam technology was available. By the way, I'm merely citing Daniel as an example.
3. Greta van Susteren—unless I speak out of turn and arrogance, I can reasonably ascertain that even Great van Susteren had an easier time making more frequent "Gretawire" videos.

With one laywoman and two professionals being cases in point as to why YouTube was wrong to discontinue the use of its webcam-upload technology, the cited laywoman in question asks that you ask YouTube to restore a vital uploading means for everyone from the layperson whom doesn't have fancy studio- and on-location equipment, to the professional whom can increase the accessibility of his or her professional world
