Yom Ki-pu(p)r...Say What?!

Reilly actually wanted fasted on Yom Kippur. The little bugger gave "Momma" kisses when "Momma" asked if she wanted to fast(!) and would be fasting on Yom Kippur(!), though she also gave kisses when she found out that she won't have to fast!

Meanwhile, while Reilly won't be fasting on Yom Kippur, she (or at least on behalf of Reilly, "Momma") wishes everyone whom is fasting a tzom kal v'gmar chatima tovah.

PS "Mimi" would absolutely resent if "Auntie Nicole" ever joked about Camille fasting!

Camille's Pre-UTI Inflammation Or Early UTI Infection, Mental Illness, Etc.

Somehow, my phone ended up sending Facebook-status updates to the wrong page. Nonetheless, this does eventually give me the opportunity to bring up the conversation as to how pets such as my sister's puppy, Camille, can affect the mental health of their human family members—such as my sister and me—for good and—albe inadvertently—for bad.

Like my sister, I have OCD/Anxiety; and let's just say that, that exacerbated our dread when Camille ended up at the emergency vet due to a fever and pre-UTI inflammation or a UTI infection. For many (if not most) people with OCD/Anxiety, this is the case: that is, dreads that are understandable and normal become exacerbated, and the exacerbation affects an OCD/Anxiety. Thus, an OCD/Anxiety-Exacerbated Dread cycle began when Camille ended up at the emergency vet.

There have also been other mental illness-exacerbation cycles regarding events ad other matters that involve Camille and Reilly (my puppy), and I imagine that this is nothing surprising to other pet owners whom also have mental illnesses. I imagine that this is also nothing surprising to those whom've read what I've specifically written about or otherwise mention in regard to those matters—not to mention that I feel absolutely judged (and know that I've been judged) for writing about those matters (Don't think that I'm not aware of that when, e.g., I lose friends on Facebook and followers on Twitter for writing about those matters and sharing my writing—what you think of me online reflects exactly what you think of me offline, as the Internet is merely technology that you use and not the reason for how you act offline and online).

Am I going to lie, though, when, for example:

  1. I overslept quite a bit during Reilly's first year due to a Depression flareup? I was very lucky that Reilly needed up to 20 hours of sleep per day during that amount of time, meanwhile.
  2. I have been unfairly judged by my mother and even my sister, whom have said that I shouldn't own a pet if I can't take care of her or him due to how my mental illnesses affect me? (By the way, "[Y]ou shouldn't own a pet if you can't take care of her or him" is a common canardic trope that is used against people with mental illnesses and other people with disabilities—not to mention people like me whom have both mental illnesses and other disabilities.). They (like others) could be a little more understanding and helpful instead of unempathetically judgemental.
  3. The mental illnesses that I have effect energy drains that affect me to not be the best "Momma" to Reilly and "Auntie" to Camille?
  4. The guilt that I feel for not being the best "Momma" to Reilly and "Auntie" to Camille affects my Bruxism to flare up (as it's affecting it to flare up as I type)? By the way, I inherited every single one of my mental illnesses (including OCD/Anxiety) from my father, whom also has Bruxism.
  5. There are actually matters about which I've not written (including which I didn't mention before writing this blog entry), such as OCD/Anxiety flareups when I'm making cards with pictures of Reilly and Camille? Because of the OCD/Anxiety flareups, making those cards can take quite a bit of time. For example (and this is where I feel judged already again), I often hit the "Undo" or "Delete" button when making those cards because what if, for example and God forbid. I'm using colors that look like colors that hate groups use (I try to avoid using certain colors because of that.) or drawing a shofar with shapes and end up using it on the card, anyway, because I can't correct the part of it that looks like a butt when at least one of the shapes is unfilled or outlined? Am I actually being irreverent and is my motive actually to be irreverent, even by typing this? Also, I avoided using "objects such a shofar with shapes" because I don't want to sound like my Anti-Semitic ex pastor whom called the Ark Of the Covenant a "piece of furniture" by calling a shofar an object.
Incidentally, my memory-affecting ADD also flared up as I was writing. For instance, I forgot for quite a few seconds what I was intending to Google when I (and for a moment just now, I forgot that I wanted to type "intending to Google when I") went to Google "Bruxism"? As for when my ADD flares up in regards to immediate matters regarding Reilly, instances of my ADD flaring up are when I forget that I was going to put on her harness and leash or give her a treat.

Meanwhile, Camille is healing from the pre-UTI inflammation or early UTI infection—and (though I don't mean to sound flippant) excuse me if part of her pre-UTI inflammation or early UTI infection was due to not taking her to "go potty" as often as it seems like I could, as my energy is frequently drained. Besides, Camille doesn't always immediately ring the bell when she needs to "go potty", and I don't know if she needs to "go potty" until she rings that bell or indicates that she needs to get out of her crate during naptime to ring the bell.

Re "For Some Moms, The Nest May Never Be Empty"

My dad's 49-year-old cousin Jamie was treated for seizures when he was 1.5 years old, and the doctors at the hospital gave him an overdose of codeine. They didn't wait to check with my granduncle and grandaunt, whom were out on a date night and having my grandaunt's sister babysit Jamie, and this was despite that Jamie is allergic to codeine.

As a result of the codeine overdose, Jamie got Cerebral Palsy and had his development stop right then and there. My granduncle and grandaunt were gracious and merciful about it, understanding that my grandaunt's sister tried her best by taking Jamie to the hospital. They also gave the doctors the benefit of the doubt, and they opted to not put him in a Pennsylvania state hospital or school (and this was three years before Willowbrook in New York was exposed).

I can only imagine the "What might've been?" and "Why did this happen?" questions that they've had, and especially since Granduncle Jim's endured a lot of other losses along with Jamie's loss of a normal life. Even before he lost the chance to see Jamie have a normal life, he lost his uncle (my great-granduncle) Bernie (of blessed memoryy) only years before (and Great-Granduncle Bernie had a botched shrapnel-removal operation that resulted in his having brain damage and resulting regression to a child-like state); and he lost his father (my great-grandfather Anthony Czarnecki, whom was a very-difficult man and -abusive father) due to Depression-affected suicide in the year after Great-Granduncle Bernie died at the Veteran's Affairs Home and Hospital in Lebanon, Pennsylvania due to a Coronary Occlusion as a result of a Schizophrenia flareup (and perhaps Granduncle Jim and even other relatives—and I myself recently—have wondered if Great-Granduncle Bernie didn't actually have a DVA-forced lobotomy that did damage similar to the damage that Jamie's codeine overdose did).

As for some of the losses after Granduncle Jim's having to deal with Jamie's loss of a normal life:

  1. His brother (my granduncle) Francis (of blessed memory) died at the age of 45 due a heart attack and Alcoholism in 1985.
  2. His brother (my granduncle) Tony died unexpectedly in 2014 at the age of 68—and being almost four years older than him, he expected to be outlived by him.
  3. His daughter, Denise, has never married or had children due to suspending much of her life to help care for her older sibling—so, he's also watched as Denise has lost a chance to live a normal life.
  4. He nearly lost his own life when he could've died due to a fall that he had from a letter in 2007, when he was trying to clean some eggs that some punks had thrown onto his roof.
As for Grandaunt Annie, she's endured both losses of her own losses that she and Granduncle Jim have shared. Meanwhile, both Granduncle Jim and Grandaunt Annie are in their 70s, and both of them are probably wondering what they're going to do in terms of what happens with Jamie when each of them dies—and what happens, if Denise, who's now in her 40s, and/or other relatives can't and/or won't take care of Jamie after they are gone?

Thus, I think that Granduncle Jim and Grandaunt Annie—and perhaps especially Granduncle Jim—can relate to that feeling of never being able to have an empty nest and especially never being able to watch each of their children live a normal life, let alone having children and grandchildren that'll someday live their own normal lives.

PS To Miriam Sokol, let me add to the following:

"I didn't know that, for example, my dad's 49-year-old cousin is a "difficult child". But what do I know? That overdose that he had on codeine when he was 1.5 years old must've been his fault. Never mind that the doctors at the hospital didn't wait to check with my granduncle and grandaunt before they tried to treat him due to his seizures."

What I want to add is this:

Jamie is not at all a "difficult child" (and neither is every other child or adult whom's afflicted with especially-severe physical and intellectual disabilities). In fact, Jamie is a very-sweet and -loving person (as I remember from when I and my side of my family would see other sides of the family every year that we could up to Pennsylvania to visit my great-grandmother, of blessed memory).

Happy Autumn From Reilly!

PS Poor Cam couldn't be in the card, as she had to go to the vet and had a fever due to a possible UTI 🙁. She is doing better now, though, and has a follow-up appointment tomorrow 🙂!

Why Does "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole" Make So Many Cards With Reilly And Camille?

The short answer is, "Why not?" The long answer includes that:

  1. So far, Reilly is "Momma"'s only child in any sense—whether a fur child or a human child—and firstborn "dogter".
  2. Having updated pictures of Reilly and Camille for "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole" to share with others gives "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole"—among, admittedly, other things¹— a chance to share holidays' and other occasions' greetings on behalf of herself, Reilly, and Camille.
  3. At least somebody has to love holidays' and other occasions' greetings from (or at least on behalf of) Reilly and Camille.
By the way, "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole" plans to make a "Happy Autumn" card for everyone (including September babies and half-year babies whom saw the last card) that's a joint "Happy Autumn Shabbat" card.

לשבת בראש הסתיו טובה לכולם מ"אמא" וראילי!

(Happy Beginning Of Autumn Shabbat From "Momma" and Reilly!)

¹ Including :
  1. Writing fodder—as photography and cardmaking are visual forms of writing (since, after all, "a picture speaks 1,000 words"), as opposed to phonetic writing (Even hybrid forms of visual and phonetic writing—i.e., "videophonetic"(?) writing—such as hieroglyphics fall into the category of phonetic writing as one of the categories by which they can be classified. By the way, "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole" found out Reilly's and Camille's first names in hieroglyphics—though given that Ancient Egypt generally worshipped cats, this maybe would not amuse Reilly or Camille.
  2. For family, friends, and others to be among the people whom see them (Who could resist wanting to have Reilly as a "dogter", for example and by the way?). Also, "Momma" did send one card to someone early once; so, she occasionally likes making special cards.

Briefly To Foray Into That World Known As Misbehaving...

Camille decided that refusing to come out of her crate while she had a toy with a squeaker in it was acceptable (By the way, the recordings are mostly-audio recordings, which were made on my cellphone.).

Incidentally, here are some (taken-on-my-cellphone) pictures of Reilly and Camille with their new toys—which were not intentional Yom Teru'ah gifts, I should add—and in case anyone's wondering, Camille's growling, barking, etc. were not teru'ot l'Yom Teru'ah—sounds (teru'ot) forYom Teru'ah 😉.

L'Erev Teru'ah Tovah!

Hopefully, Yom Teru'ah 5777 will be a better Yom Teru'ah than Yom Teru'ah 5776 was—at least for "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole"! As for Reilly and Camille, they started off their Yom Teru'ah celebrations with peanut butter for (relatively) cooperating in taking pictures—so, Reilly's and Camille's 'Erev Teru'ah 5777 has been a Mo'ed Teru'ah l'teru'ot simchot—and Reilly got an extra treat because she patiently waited for "Auntie Michelle"/"Mimi" to get Camille into the picture and move in order for Camille to look directly at "Auntie Nicole" instead of be distracted by "Mimi"!

Somewhat Offbeat: As "Momma" Mentioned Last Night...

Exhaustion once again befell her, and Reilly once again had been very patient about it. "Momma" even had exhaustion throughout the day and may've even gotten a cold (as she once got before) as a result.

(Almost two years, and you'd think that "Momma" and Reilly would have a clear answer by now! Reilly turned 3.5 Hebrew years on September 13-14 or 14-15, by the way.)

"Mimi" Relented For Camille "Will Jump For Chicken" Czarnecki

(Something like what happened)

Camille: (Doing something.)

"Auntie Nicole": (🤔🤷🏽‍♀️) Holy heck—what is she doing?"

"Mimi": That was Cam. She wanted the chicken bone so badly, she just went after it. I could not give Cam the bone, but I let Reilly and Camille lick my fingers.

Camille: (Barking and "nearly jump[ing] on the bone" and "lunging at the bone after the fact")

"Mimi": No, Cam; I can't give you the bone. I don't have any chicken. Maybe tomorrow.

"Mimi"/"Auntie Michelle": Oh, alright; I'll let you lick my fingers.

Camille and Reilly: ("Are you kidding? They went at it—they just went at it," and obviously more than obliged. -"Mimi"/"Auntie Michelle")

(The chicken was better than bird feathers!)

Mostly Offbeat: A Quick Note From "Momma" Re A Few People

In case anyone's wondering, "Momma"'s possible helpmate and Reilly's possible "Daddy" will never have to worry about Reilly's new friend or anyone else being "Momma"'s possible helpmate and Reilly's possible "Daddy", unless God wills otherwise. Besides, the family friend is not from the area whence "Momma" hinted that he comes. Also, Reilly has met the family friend before, whereas she has not met her possible "Daddy"¹.

¹Quién "Mama" extraña todos y de quién piense todos los días.

"Corruption = Entertainment", As Far As The Emmys Are Concerned

While Donald Glover and Lena Waith made history when each won an Emmy tonight, Anti Semites and kapos also made history. As one community had simchot, one has a reason to mourn—and one which is not entirely separate from the history over which the one community has to rejoice.

Hollywood hypocritically invited Sean Spicer to speak. By inviting Sean Spicer to speak, the Emmys are trying to normalize Anti Semitism and condemning Anti-Black racism in the same way that they tried to normalize both Anti Semitism and Anti-Black racism with—either the ironically- or the kapoesquely-promoted—"Birth Of a Nation", promoted by none other than Louis B. Mayer—whom himself was a victim of discrimination and child émigré as a result of discrimination (not unlike my father's paternal grandfather, whom Louis B. Mayer persecuted along with everyone else whom that the "Birth Of a Nation" writer persecuted in the first place).

Actually, Hollywood in the end is trying to once again normalize Anti-Semitic and Anti-Black racismⁱ as they did 102 years ago—and they're trying to ruin the African-American community's simchot and once again torment Jews in the process—and imagine where my Black lantzmen¹ and lantzfroyen² must be caught, as if being caught between other rocks and hard places weren't enough!

PS Some actually rated the junk above a "★". I asked them to ask themselves what they would rate Leni Riefenstahl's films.

PS Update:

There are two tweets before this one as well.

Remember that Tr**p hates Black people almost as much, if not as much, as he hates Jewish people.
¹ e.g., Eric André—by the way, I'm pretty sure that he's not an Andrelewitz; and I've yet to come across a Black Andrelewitz besides my cousin Brianna (and as I've said, I don't know where we got "Andrulevičus" and subsequent variants).
² e.g., Kat Graham—whom really shares a part of my family's background, as my paternal family has Russlande Yidish roots, and one of my family's matriarchs is Alexandria Alice Andrulewicz Czerniecki (Osnat Sara bat Yosef HaKohen Andrulevitz), of blessed memory (Other relatives were "Alexandrias" as well, "Alexanders", etc.).

Reilly Just Found A New Friend In A Family Friend, Despite That She's Jealous Of His Kitties

Sniffing the kitties and wanting a scritch—ambivalence

"Mom-Mom" brings Reilly over

Scritches behind the ears

Only one phrase to describe especially this picture and the two next pictures¹....

As for Camille, she wasn't having any of Reilly's jealously.

Reilly is much happier after a good scritch behind the ears.

¹One can stop at 5:15 and then resume at 0:00 and stop at 6:02. By the way, Reilly hears "Momma" sing this all of the time. Also BTW, the family friend is not whom some might think that he is.

Dentastick? "Momma" Culpa. Bird Feathers? Culpa Canina.

One can understand why "Momma" mistook Reilly's half of a dentastick for a "nasty", although she later apologized to Reilly for mistakenly trying to take her dentastick—and no wonder that Reilly clenched the dentastick in her jaw and kep turning her head away from "Momma"!

Reilly also clenched her jaw when she somehow left two cardinal feathers down to their rachises and quills—and "Auntie Michelle" has no clue how Reilly got the bird feathers! By the way, "Momma" and "Auntie Michelle" are fairly certain that Reilly tried to eat only bird feathers that she found by the birdfeeder and not any actual birds.

PS Besides not letting any puppy—especially any small-breed puppy—eat feathers, follow other safety precautions (including not letting your puppy eat any other "nasties") to let your puppy live long and prosper¹—no matter whether he or she is in his or her pre-adult, adult, or senior years.

By the way, it really wasn't that long ago when Reilly celebrated Hanukkah 5776, is it? (She hates "Momma" when "Momma" makes her wear her tallit v'kippahor anything elsev'ima lah ohevet b'kal mikreh.)

Guest Post By Rachel Wheeler: Immigration Court Trends for the USA in 2016

(Note: In light of the issues surrounding DACA and the travel ban, this post—which Rachel Wheeler wrote on July 20, 2017—is very significant and timely. Although Rachel wrote the post regarding 2016 immigration trends, the 2016 immigration trends and the then-to-be-affected 2017 immigration trends played a key role in the 2016 Election.

(Of course, the legitimacy of the 2016 Election results is another discussion—and I've made clear my positions regarding the 2016 Election results, DACA and the travel ban, and other matters regarding the fallout of the 2016 Election.)

Immigration Court Trends for the USA in 2016

Each year the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) publishes a statistical year-end review on immigration court matters. Released last month, the FY 2016 Yearbook highlights several significant trends that appeared over the past 12 months.
An Increase in Matters Received
Last year, 14% more matters were received by the Immigration Courts compared to 2015. ‘Matters received’ covers a range of violations and applications pertaining to immigration law: Bonds that require payment, formal requests from deportation, and motions to reopen, reconsider, or re-calendar various applications and appeals.
More than 200,000 Matters Completed
A 4% increase in matters completed shows that the courts are effectively handling the matters presented to them. It also proves that they are processing at a faster rate than the previous year. Of all matters received, those completed fell into four main categories:

Granted some form of relief – This pertains to an immigration judge’s decision to grant relief or protection from removal to an immigrant otherwise vulnerable to forced expulsion. Roughly 17,000 individuals received such grants throughout 2016 and therefore are able to remain in the USA.

Order of deportation – After the decision to expel an immigrant has been passed, the DHS becomes responsible for their physical removal. Deportation cases generally arise when the Immigration Naturalization Service (INS) finds the country was entered illegally, or alternately entered legally yet in violation of one or more visa terms. Over 96,000 deportation and removal decisions were made last year.

Terminated Cases – Terminated cases arise for a variety of reasons. Often, they occur if the immigration judge finds that the DHS is lacking evidence for the removal of an immigrant. As a result, the decision to terminate a case is made. More than 23,000 cases were terminated by immigration judges in 2016.

Officially Closed Matters – This remaining category covers Administrative Closure of immigration cases, Failures to Prosecute, Other Administrative Completions, and Temporary Protected Statuses. The total of these occurrences in 2016 came to slightly over 48,500 cases.
Skilled Workers Choose the United States

Interestingly, inventors chose the United States as their priority destination over all other first world nations between 2000 and 2010. Recent research shows that 190,000 migrants holding global patents for a wide range of products moved to the USA. In the same period, only 10,000 brought their futures (and inventions) elsewhere.

Furthermore, 47% of the increase in the United States workforce in the past decade can be attributed to immigrants. 22% of healthcare and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) occupations were taken up by immigrants. This proves a strong tendency for people to move to the United States not only to pursue the ‘American Dream’, but also to further their career in skilled areas. In doing so, they also strengthen the domestic economy.
The Language of Immigration

Of all the completed matters presented in immigration courts in 2016, 91% came from just five of the 258 languages spoken in these courts. The highest of these was Spanish, accounting for 76% of all completions, followed by English (10%), Mandarin (4%), Punjabi (1%) and Arabic (0.6%).

Recent trends in both general immigration figures from the EOIR and Migration Policy Debate papers show the importance of the immigration vetting process. Additionally, they attest to the need for professional translation services for immigration courts and patent processing.

An Reply To An Email That "Momma" Received This Morning, And An Incidental Note

By the way, "Momma" blacked out the email address of the emailer in question, as well as replaced one word in the email and blacked out the puppy's name to protect the emailer's privacy—and she is publishing the email here because the questions could really be FAQ questions, given that they were well-thought-of questions:

Hi, Dr. and Mrs. Halari:

Per your queries:

1. Joyce was and is a wonderful, loving, knowledgeable, and competent breeder. "Love Little Dogs" is truly an honest and accurate name for her website. By the way, we referred neighbors (Shelby's owners) to her, and they in turn referred other neighbors (Solo's owners) to Joyce. (Also, please tell Joyce that Reilly, Camille, Shelby, Solo, and Fenway are all doing well. I should mention, too, that Camille and Shelby are maternal sisters, and "Tootsie's [Camille's and Shelby's mom's] grandmother is Apple's [Reilly's mom's] sister.")
2. Reilly and Camille each adjusted well to being brought home. Reilly was not brought home until she was three days short of nine weeks old, and Camille was not brought home until she was 10 weeks and five days old.
3. They've been very good; thank you for asking.
4. Yes. Smaller dogs will have more risk for issues such as luxating patella and UTIs, for example, though that is a genetic-based risk and not due to breeder fault.
5. Yes. I'd read up on dog ownership, talk to the vet, talk to neighbors and loved ones whom've owned dogs, and certainly talk to Joyce :-).
6. Yes, though that's also genetic. For example, Reilly is allergic to heartworm pills (We ended up opting for heartworm vaccines, a booster shot of which she got yesterday)

1. What did you think about Joyce?
2. How about you pet after you took them home?
3. How have they been?
4. Anything to look out for?
5. Any pointers for first time dog owners?
6. Any specific health issues with your pets?

We are so excited and plan on picking up Ollie tomorrow morning (9/15), please let use know what you think, it would mean a lot to us.

Thank you,
- Dr. and Mrs. Halari

PS Admittedly, this is at least a small comfort for what "Momma" has been enduring of late—and not to mention that Reilly has been a lifesaver through all that "Momma" has endured¹.

¹Including confusion re what a certain someone wants. Note to him, by the way:

Tengo algunes preguntas muy cándidas y una admisión cándida para tí, si me permite te preguntar las preguntas; y lo siento si son demasiada francas. A esto punto, necesito las preguntar y la admitir a tí, especialmente porque pronto llegará Yom Kipur (y no pienso que Jesús escribió mi nombre en el Libro de Vida sin razón):

  • ¿Amas o no amas mí y Reily?

Reilly the Little Trouper (And How Does She Deal With A Beleaguered "Momma"?)

"Momma" doesn't know how Reilly deals with herespecially for about 3.5 years now, including when she first came home (away from home—and "Momma" is amazed that she and Reilly have survived here, as "Momma" has been vocal against Tr**p and received death threats for being vocal against Tr**p for her, Reilly's, and others' sakes). Reilly has also dealt patiently with "Momma" as she's suffered with mental-illness flareups and been up at nights to even the point of exhaustion—even to the point at which she had a headache, threw up, and hardly slept last night—and with little, or even without, compassion from "Mom-Mom" (and at least "Mom-Mom", as if she's perfect, once again admitted what she thinks of "Momma"—"You're very disruptive to this household"—and "Momma" is certainly afraid that she won't be able to take Reilly with her if "Mom-Mom" kicks her out—and not that "Momma"'s perfect, though "Mom-Mom" insists on nonetheless using what "Momma" endures and how she doesn't always handle it perfectly as a way to make her suffer more¹, and verbal abuse certainly does not help "Momma" be a good "Momma" to Reilly),

Not that "Momma"'s recent breakdown over an ableist person whom's supposed to be helping her with something instead of telling her that all she's worth is her disability (like Hell "Momma" wants to have "office clerk" as a "long-term employment goal", despite that she's made clear that she can do more than be an "office clerk" just because of her disability—and "Mom-Mom" makes excuses for her (and "Momma" did and does not owe Reilly an apology for breaking down and inadvertently scaring her, let alone having "Mom-Mom" turn Reilly against her in that moment—and "Momma"'s well aware that her yelling and crying scared Reilly!

Whoopi Goldberg & Joy Behar Didn't Embarrass Sarah Huckabee Sanders

For "Salon" to even have that as their headline is embarrassing, as Sarah Huckabee Sanders has embarrassed herself—or at least should be embarrassed because of her behavior, including defending Tr**p and her father. Also, Sarah Huckabee Sanders doesn't "have to go out and defend those lies every day", as she willingly took the job as Tr**p's press secretary and decided that "Like father, like daughter" is okay in her case.

Both "Salon" and Joy Behar ought to be ashamed for even defending Sarah Huckabee Sanders, especially right after Joy Behar called her out for her behavior—and for Joy Behar to turn around and act like Sarah Huckabee Sanders is a victim, and "Salon"'s (not to mention others') promoting of Joy Behar's lie that Sarah Huckabee Sanders ""[has] to go out and defend those [Tr**p's and her father's pro-Tr**p] lies every day" is embarrassing—and "Salon" and Joy Behar are embarrassing themselves by defending Sarah Huckabee Sanders and, effectively, Tr**p and Mike Huckabee.

A Reflection Re "Heaven, 9/11 Memorial Version"

I can only imagine how, I suppose to a similar extent, my paternal grandfather's father and living siblings felt on September 11, 1922 and subsequent days. From what I understand, my great-great-granddad Julian Czarnecki was absolutely no hero—or if he was one, his bad facets outweighed his good ones. Nonetheless, his death must've really weighed on my great-granddad and his living siblings (one of whom would follow her father only slightly over 2.75 years later).

Great-Granddad was going to be 18 that October (and to compound the worst matters in his life, he turned 25 on a day on which a 25th birthday would not be joyous to anyone—Black Thursday). So on that birthday (and subsequent birthdays), he had to remember the loss of his father (with whom he had a conflicted relationship—or at least I'd be surprised if he didn't have a conflicted relationship with him—and subsequent birthdays would become even worse as the years passed and worse events kept happening—in fact, his 35th birthday had the fresh pain of Black Thursday's 10th anniversary and the only-almost-two-months old invasion of Poland).

As for Great-Granddad's youngest sibling, she wasn't yet even nine months old when Great-Great-Granddad died—and the oldest surviving one had, if you count 13 as the bat-mitzvah age, become a bat-mitzvah that year (and she was the one whom followed Great-Great-Granddad into death on June 23, 1925).

At least none of them were around to see 9/11. However, my great-granddad's widow—to whom he was quite abusive, and with whom she obviously had a conflicted relationship—was, and so were four of his five children (One died seven hours after birth, right before the 10th anniversary of his aunt Regina's death.). While I do not know whether my great-grandma ever met her father-in-law or her sister-in-law Regina, I know that she was well aware that September 11th always carried pain for my great-granddad—as carried every October 24th, and not just because of the September 11th before his 18th birthday—and both were born in Jewish homes (he in Anti-Semitic Polish Russia, she in an Anusi home in Ashley-Hanover Township, Pennsylvania) and raised in Anusi homes, and they thus knew the pain of every passing September 11th (on which Great-Great-Granddad may not have died had his family not disowned him for becoming an Anusi) and October 24th.

I can only imagine how the pain of every other September 11th hit her on 9/11, and I never did ask her because I didn't know our family story—not even that we were and are Jews—not to mention that I saw her only once every year from some time in the 90s until 2005, and I was dealing with an abusive dad (It's like the Passover question that the fourth child doesn't ask—he or she doesn't ask because he or she doesn't know how to ask or maybe even to ask at all.).

I wonder what she thought—or at least would've thought—if she heard this song—I also wonder the same about Pop-Pop (whom was sadly, as Granduncle Tony stated, "Like father, like son.") and Granduncle Tony (whom unexpectedly died on July 31 2014, three days after what would've been his mother's 101st birthday). I also certainly wonder what Great-Granddad would've thought and what Granduncle Red (Francis "Red" Czarnecki, whom died in 1985) would've thought (BTW, he was called "Red" because of his red hair—which, as I later found out, is, so to speak, a dead giveaway of if someone is Jewish in Poland, as is Brown hair for someone whom's a Brown-haired Jew, as Ethnic Poles are indigenously light-haired and light-eyed).

A Quick Update On Reilly & Camille

The "gwirls" are doing well and are back to normal. In fact:

  1. Both Reilly and Camille were back to normal within a day, and Reilly was back to normal within 12-18 hours!
  2. Both Reilly and Camille are their lovably-bratty and brattily-lovable selves.
  3. Both Reilly and Camille freaked out with the groundhog being back—in fact, Camille was scared of it when she went to try to "go potty" the night after the dental cleaning, and Reilly wanted to chase it yesterday!
  4. Reilly is back to her jealous self—she even zoomed into the family room at the right side of the couch and did a dominance show on Camille when Camille went to say "Hi!" to someone! It was surreal—like she was in a commercial or a movie, or a video game!
  5. Poor Reilly has to deal with "Momma", although (for good and bad) she tolerates her!

Why I Am Disappointed In Sadie Robertson, Even Though I Do Not Have An Eating Disorder

Sadie Robertson, one of the "Duck Dynasty" kids, struggled with (based on the way that it sounds) Bulimia, given that even her mother had no idea that she had an eating disorder (and especially those with paternal and maternal eyes can notice significant weight losses). Per "Frequently Asked Questions About Eating Disorders" per Johns Hopkins Medicine:

"Both anorexia nervosa and bulimia are characterized by an overvalued drive for thinness and a disturbance in eating behavior. The main difference between diagnoses is that anorexia nervosa is a syndrome of self-starvation involving significant weight loss of 15 percent or more of ideal body weight, whereas patients with bulimia nervosa are, by definition, at normal weight or above."

Why I am disappointed in Sadie Robertson, then, is her attitude re "tak[ing] authority over [her thoughts]":

"'The day I prayed for the Lord to enlighten my eyes to see His standard of beauty, is the day my whole life changed," she said. "Do these old thoughts come back from time to time? Absolutely, but it is my job to take authority over them.'"

For many fellow self-identifying Christians of Sadie Robertson with eating disorders and other mental illnessesⁱ, it's not as simple as the "Duck Dynasty" star makes it—and people like her whom use religion falsely give many a "Just pray and it'll mostly go away" idea to consider.
In fact, quite a few Christians and people in other religious groups with eating disorders and other mental illnesses think, "If only it were that easy!" and may even become antithetical toward religion as a result. Faith communities are supposed to be there to help those with eating disorders and other mental illnesses, not have an "Oh, ye of little faith; that's why you have a mental illness!"
Also, not everyone has the resources (e.g., money, groups of social networks, significant social status) that Sadie Robertson has. I even go as far as to add that Sadie Robertson may as well have kept her struggle with her eating disorder private instead of having talked about it in such a thoughtless and cavalier way.
As a Biblical proverb goes¹, "Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; [w]hen he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive." There is only foolishness in using religion to make light of serious problems, especially when the person whom makes light of the problem assumes at some level that she or he is the only one struggling with the problem.
One's making light of her or his her given mental illness (whether it is an eating disorder or another type of mental illness) with a "Pray for it to go away" attitude may even have a deadly affect on others, since "[d]eath and life are in the power of the tongue."
After all, people who feel like "I just don't have enough faith. I can't do this, anyway" may even commit suicide as a result²; and for people with eating disorders, suicide may come in the form of deliberately starving themselves to death. Sadie Robertson needs to remember that every time that she begins to assume that it's as simple as "Pray for it to go away" for everyone with eating disorders.

Including myself—and I myself have OCD/Anxiety, Depression, and ADD
¹ I quote the New King James Version, via Bible Gateway, here.
² I don't know whether this was a motive in the suicides of Great-Granddad Czarnecki, Great-Great-Grandma Rusnak's brothers Ferencz "Frank" and Andrȧs "Alexander" Foczko, and
Great-Great-Grandma Rusnak's father (Istvȧn Foczko; also "Focko"). My family's case was and is different, as we are Anusim and B'nei Anusim whose ancestors became and lived as Anusim due to Anti Semitism in Eastern Europe and the United States, and mental illness set offs and flareups in our family indeed have been affected by the dynamics of being Anusim and B'nei Anusimincluding the dynamics of family secrecies.
