Nope. It falls among the Indo Europeans, Khazars (from whom Levites like the Foczkos are descended), and Ashkenazi Levites (Aren't we lucky? *eye roll* Then again, G-d did bless the nations, etc.):
For example:
The approximate distribution of Y-DNA haplogroups among the Bulgarian people runs as follows:
16% E1b1b
1% G2a
3% I1
20% I2a (very common among South Slavic peoples)
1% I2b
20% J2
1% Q
18% R1a
18% R1b
1% T
Another instance:
Slovenia is in the northwestern quadrant of the Balkan Peninsula and shares borders with Austria, Croatia, Hungary, and Italy. The Slovenian language belongs to the South Slavic language family.
Y-DNA (paternal DNA) haplogroups are distributed among the Slovenians at these approximate frequencies:
R1a = 34.5% to 37.18% - appears to come from early Indo-European speakers
R1b = 15.7% to 23.5%
I2a = 22% - also common in Croatians & Bosnians
I1 = 9.5% to 10.8%
E1b1b = 3% - common in the Middle East and North Africa
J2 = 3% - from the northern Middle East
G2a = 1.5% to 2.88%
I2b = 1% to 2%
J1 = 1% - from the southern Middle East
And no; Greece, Turkey, and Italy are not Balkan or Southern Slavic--in fact, the Greeks, Turks, and Italians would be insulted by the suggestion that they are; and so would the Balkaners.
| Now there is a map of the Balkans! |
