"Santa" Is No Deterrent For Reilly—Or Camille

Taking advice from a friend seems to be a hit-or-miss undertaking, since "Santa's watching" seems to generally have no effect—since, for example, Camille (as "Auntie Nicole" just discovered) just went upstairs without permission again (and with "Mimi"/"Auntie Michelle" having brought Camille down, Reilly is now deciding to cause another situation and not say "Night nights" to Camille—and Camille and Reilly have to have "Mimi"/"Auntie Michelle" give them their respective lectures).

"Auntie Nicole"'s/"Momma"'s additions to "Santa's watching" also seem generally effectless. Even claims that "Santa" will put coal in Camille's and Reilly's stockings don't seem to affect either Camille or Reilly to behave.

By the way, "Auntie Nicole"/"Momma" can't claim that "Santa" will give Camille or Reilly switches and/or sticks because Camille and Reilly never experience animal cruelty (which beating a pet with a switch is) or pass up opportunities to try to eat sticks (to which "Momma" can attest, since she even had to get pieces of fake sticks from a Christmas decoration out of Reilly's mouth recently!).

Camille Didn't Get the Concept Of the Bird Ornaments On the Tree Until...

"Mimi" took her over to "see the brides on the tree", as "Auntie Nicole" asked her whether she did earlier. She kept looking out the window and barked at first when she thought that she saw birds, despite that "Auntie Nicole" kept telling her that they were "on the tree over there".

"Mimi" eventually had to take her over to the tree, and she looked over "Mimi"'s shoulder even then at first.

As for Reilly, she got that the "birdies" were "on the tree over there" when "Auntie Michelle" took her to it right away.

Of course, neither Reilly or Camille get that the "birdies" are ornaments, and "Momma/Auntie Nicole" wanted to take an ornament off the tree and show them "the birdie" to see how they'd react to it for that reason. "Auntie Michelle"/"Mimi", though, misheard and thought that "Momma/Auntie Nicole" was being "sadistic" by tricking them about a "burglar" being around. "Mom-Mom", on the other hand, understood what she said and thought that she was being mean overall.

Update [12:45 AM EST on Monday, December 4th]: "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole" finally got to show Reilly and Camille two of the ornaments to see how they'd react. Though Reilly actually saw both and Camille saw only one, their reactions to each were essentially the same: curiosity and desires to sniff-vestigate. Reilly also, however, licked her lips after she sniffed the cardinal ornament, so she may have wanted to eat the ornament—then again, she had been distracted by Camille's reception of treats from "Auntie Michelle"; so, she may have been licking her lips for treats!

And The Thanksgiving Eve Barkfest Begins...

Just moments ago, Camille and Reilly began a barkfest when "Mom-Mom" sent Reilly downstairs after her evening nap. The barkfest unfolded as follows:

1. "Mom-Mom" sent Reilly down.
2. She called down to "Auntie Michelle" to let her know.
3. "Auntie Michelle" whinly: "Wha-a-at?" (after a long week, to be fair, and with an apology)
4. Camille began barking.
5. Reilly began barking.
6. "Auntie Michelle"/"Mimi" told Reilly and Camille that she had to go lay down for a while because they were causing her to a headache.
7. Reilly and Camille continued to bark for a little longer after that.

Thanksgiving 2017 Card From Reilly and Camille

PS Flash ended up being too much. However, "Mimi" liked this picture of Camille, and "Auntie Nicole" got the "eyes...aglow" idea from it. Also, Cam really did try to steal Ri's treats and had to go into her crate until Reilly's separate photo was taken, and she got an extra treat for getting into her crate as "Auntie Nicole" asked her to do while Reilly got an extra treat for finally cooperating with "Momma".

PS Combat and service animals count as veterans as much as people (including military spouses) do.

Halloween Card From Reilly and Camille

PS Reilly had her leash on partly to get ready for her walk, and Camille even refused to cooperate with "Mimi" at first.

The Halloween Card Will Have To Come Later Tonight, After "Mimi" Holds Camille For Separate Pictures

As "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole" predicted, Reilly and Camille were going to hate getting dressed up. Reilly did not fully cooperate with "Momma" the first time, as she followed Camille's bad example of jumping off of the couch once "Auntie Nicole" got Camille's costume on her and got Camille on the couch. She did, however, reluctantly cooperate the second time and get treats as a result.

As for Camille, as "Auntie Nicole" stated, "Mimi" will have to help "Auntie Nicole" get separate pictures of Camille. There goes "Auntie Nicole"'s original theme idea for the card, by the way 🙄

Reilly's And Camille's Costumes....

Let's just say that they're not exactly pup-proved.

(You thought that "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole" would reveal what the Halloween costumes are, didn't you? Not without making a Halloween card! Trick for treat, and the treat will be a Halloween card with Reilly and Camille in their costumes!

(Anyway...)

1. Reilly and Camille hate dressing up in general.
2. "Mimi"/"Auntie Michelle" (despite that she thinks that the costumes are cute) certainly did not help "Auntie Nicole/"Momma" get Camille and Reilly to get their costumes on them as much as she could have helped her.
3. The costume for Reilly was bigger than expected, despite that it's size adjustable.
4. Probably due in part to flaring-up-of-late OCD/Anxiety, "Momma" likely left the costume a little too loose since she doesn't want to choke Reilly. 

PS "Trick for treat" definitely encompasses Reilly's allowing "Momma" to put on the costume in exchange for getting a treat. 

Happy Belated National Pumpkin Day!

As promised...

The Air Force, A Loving Reilly, And Veteran's Day (Plus An Upcoming Belated National Pumpkin Day Card)

"Momma" is proud that:

1. The head of the Air Force Academy, Lt. Gen. Jay Silveria, condemns bigotry
2. Reilly refused to nosebutt her when she, in light of Lt. Gen. Silveria's admonition to the Air Force, asked her whether she hated anybody just because of what they look like, their beliefs, etc.. At one point, though, Reilly nosebutted "Momma" because she assumed that "Momma" wanted her to nosebutt when she mistook a refusal to nosebutt as an affirmative answer and asked the question again ("Momma" culpa!)

Apparently, though, Reilly loves "Momma" (She gave "Momma" kisses.) and hates everybody else (including "Momma—or at least she was tired of "Momma" bothering her with questions!).

As Veteran's Day approaches, meanwhile, "Momma" and Reilly thank the Air Force and other veterans (including active-duty ones. Once a person in the United States Armed Forces, always a veteran—except for the ones like treasonous Bowe Bergdahl and very-much-self-exaggerating John Garofalo.)

(By the way, Reilly—while she may love everybody—doesn't like everybody, and she would certainly dislike those like Bowe Bergdahl on a daily basis as much as she dislikes "Momma" on some days!)

PS Reilly did get her earned pumpkin for both being patient with "Momma" over the past few weeks and National Pumpkin Day,  and she will (God willing) be in a belated National Pumpkin Day card.

For some reason, by the way, Powerpoint did not save the background to the card as part of the picture. Reilly and Camille had their picture taken for the card after their grooming appointment, meanwhile.

1. Reilly and Camille are going to see "Ms. Molly" this afternoon and get their monthly to bimonthly grooming (maybe in time for a Shabbat Sukkot card? 🙂)
2. Two encounters that Reilly had with other puppies recently amused an observant "Momma": one encounter was with Shelby, and one was with a puppy whom "Momma" had to assure that Reilly was not around at the time just before the encounter occurred—as he was afraid to let jealous Reilly's "Momma" give him scritches!
3. Other happenings here and about have occurred, and "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole" will try to write about some of those.

PS Just like last time that "Momma" made a card, "Momma"'s mental illnesses (OCD/Anxiety, Depression, and ADD) along with Bruxism flared up. "Momma" nonetheless tries her best to make cards with Reilly for every significant occasion. She really thinks, meanwhile, that the OCD/Anxiety, etc. is flaring up because of unclear answers re a certain matter.

Why Does "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole" Make So Many Cards With Reilly And Camille?

The short answer is, "Why not?" The long answer includes that:

1. So far, Reilly is "Momma"'s only child in any sense—whether a fur child or a human child—and firstborn "dogter".
2. Having updated pictures of Reilly and Camille for "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole" to share with others gives "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole"—among, admittedly, other things¹— a chance to share holidays' and other occasions' greetings on behalf of herself, Reilly, and Camille.
3. At least somebody has to love holidays' and other occasions' greetings from (or at least on behalf of) Reilly and Camille.

By the way, "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole" plans to make a "Happy Autumn" card for everyone (including September babies and half-year babies whom saw the last card) that's a joint "Happy Autumn Shabbat" card.

(Happy Beginning Of Autumn Shabbat From "Momma" and Reilly!)

¹ Including :

1. Writing fodder—as photography and cardmaking are visual forms of writing (since, after all, "a picture speaks 1,000 words"), as opposed to phonetic writing (Even hybrid forms of visual and phonetic writing—i.e., "videophonetic"(?) writing—such as hieroglyphics fall into the category of phonetic writing as one of the categories by which they can be classified. By the way, "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole" found out Reilly's and Camille's first names in hieroglyphics—though given that Ancient Egypt generally worshipped cats, this maybe would not amuse Reilly or Camille.
2. For family, friends, and others to be among the people whom see them (Who could resist wanting to have Reilly as a "dogter", for example and by the way?). Also, "Momma" did send one card to someone early once; so, she occasionally likes making special cards.

Briefly To Foray Into That World Known As Misbehaving...

Camille decided that refusing to come out of her crate while she had a toy with a squeaker in it was acceptable (By the way, the recordings are mostly-audio recordings, which were made on my cellphone.).






Incidentally, here are some (taken-on-my-cellphone) pictures of Reilly and Camille with their new toys—which were not intentional Yom Teru'ah gifts, I should add—and in case anyone's wondering, Camille's growling, barking, etc. were not teru'ot l'Yom Teru'ah—sounds (teru'ot) forYom Teru'ah 😉.

L'Erev Teru'ah Tovah!

Hopefully, Yom Teru'ah 5777 will be a better Yom Teru'ah than Yom Teru'ah 5776 was—at least for "Momma"/"Auntie Nicole"! As for Reilly and Camille, they started off their Yom Teru'ah celebrations with peanut butter for (relatively) cooperating in taking pictures—so, Reilly's and Camille's 'Erev Teru'ah 5777 has been a Mo'ed Teru'ah l'teru'ot simchot—and Reilly got an extra treat because she patiently waited for "Auntie Michelle"/"Mimi" to get Camille into the picture and move in order for Camille to look directly at "Auntie Nicole" instead of be distracted by "Mimi"!
