To My Persecutors...

I ask you to examine yourself. Contrary to what you want to think, I mean no harm against you or anyone else. In fact, especially if you claim to be wise, remember that "[r]ebuke is more effective for a wise man
Than a hundred blows on a fool."

This is part of why I am dealing with you. I think about you and I think about others. My actions are not just for me or my benefit. I always dread (read: sadly expect) that someone will eventually try to oppose me. I am not perfect, and I will admit when I am wrong and not walking in integrity. However, I'm right when I'm right, and I'm not right because of me—I'm right when I'm right only because of Christ.

I am not Moses; I am not Jeremiah, and I am not any other of the prophets or righteous people of blessed memories or blessed names—I am not worthy to be even considered among these. Nonetheless, I try to stand up to evil. When I do stand up to evil and you persecute me, I have to ask (as did Moses when our countrymen were persecuting him), "Why do you contend with me? Why do you tempt the Lord?"

Also, why do you glorify the Amaleks—whether or not you mean to do so? The Torah states:

14 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.” 15 And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-Lord-Is-My-Banner;[c] 16 for he said, “Because the Lord has sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”

The Torah does not state that we are to remember Amalek in any other way or context but in regards to what he did against Israel. We are not to revive him, and we are not to enable any Amalek in this generation. Even when we do Purim readings in the synagogues (Messianic and otherwise), we do not revive or remember Haman. In fact, we make a deliberate effort to drown out his name when we read it.

We rejoice that Haman (Yemach shemo u'zichrono.) cannot hurt us anymore, and we don't want to hear his name. Nonetheless, we don't (or at least we shouldn't) rejoice in the death of the wicked. 

PS: Kohelet (Ecclesiastes) 4:16 and The World

I saw a quote that said, "No matter how famous, or rich you become, the weather will determine the attendance at your funeral." I don't buy it. People have braved the worst kinds of weather to attend a millionarie's or celebrity's funeral, and I'm even questioning that "There was no end of all the people over whom he was made king;
Yet those who come afterward will not rejoice in him." (Kohelet 4:16a-b)

Unless Sholmo was writing about normal times and not the End of Days, we certainly remember kings and other celebrities—and we even pass down the knowledge of them to our children and grandchildren, and their grandchildren and their grandchildren. For example, who doesn't know about King Hammurabi?—and he died in 1750 BCE! Who doesn't remember or know about Elvis—the "King of Rock and Roll"? "Yet those who come afterward will not rejoice in him." Really?

Again, unless Shlomo wasn't being told about the time that is "such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be." (Mattityahu 24:21. cf. Markus 13:19, 1 Timote 4:1-2, and Romim 1:22-24), I question Kohelet 4:16a-b. Even a certain celebrity (and I guarantee that he'll be remembered) got 924 "likes" and 112 comments as well as 11 shares for one picture within five hours today. He also got 9 "favorites", 27 retweets, and 17 comments within the same amount of time. Unless the time where we say "Will a man make gods for himself, Which are not gods?" (Yirimiyahu 16:20) comes soon, the veracity of Kohelet 4:16a-b is a question for me.

Who is the Angel of the Lord?

"20 Behold, I send an angel before thee, to keep thee by the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. 21 Take heed of him, and hearken unto his voice; be not rebellious against him; for he will not pardon your transgression; for My name is in him. 22 But if thou shalt indeed hearken unto his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. 23 For Mine angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite; and I will cut them off."

We know, then, that the Angel of the Lord IS the Lord (thus, why He is Yehovah-Tzva'ot--Yehovah of Hosts). Thus, Yeshua was with the Holocaust victims as much as He was with Daniel's friends--even if he did not save them from physical death. For what has Yehovah stated? "Behold, they may gather together, but not by Me; whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall because of thee."


Sometimes, evil happens; and even if Yehovah does not rescue us from every consequence of it, He is with us in it--just like He was with the Holocaust victims.

If only that were true. Closing Thought For The Night: Non-Messianic Judaism Versus Messianic Judaism

Non-Messianic Judaism says, "I can attain merit on my own righteousness and follow tradition." Messianic Judaism says, "'And he believed in the LORD; and He counted it to him for righteousness.'--So if Abraham had to rely on G-d and on faith, what of me?! I can't do it on my own! 'Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? Then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.' Since human nature is like skin color, I can't rely on myself--I have to rely on G-d to merit my righteousness!" L'laila tov.

Even God Doesn't Create Like He Used To...

We are in the Never-Was-and-Never-Again Time, and people are particularly wicked and apostate. Therefore, even God is creating more cheaply than he used to--even most of the vilest of sinners used to have a redeemable or redeeming quality back then (There were exceptions like Mohammed and, arguably, Martin Luther who had no redeeming quality whatsoever--after all, Luther stole the Reformation from Jan Hus.). Now the vilest of sinners has no redeemable or redeeming quality.

I know that the Bible admonishes to not look back on the days of old or preserve usable objects of this age, but I can't blame my mom for not wanting me and my sister to use Nana Pundt's heirloom family teapot but for special occassions. After all, "They just don't make them like they used to"--and neither does God.

The Dangers of Talmudic Thinking For Messianic and Other Certain Jews

A conversation that I had with a friend illustrates how dangerous P'rushiyin groups like Hillel Campus Communities, Outreach Judaism, and MERCAZ are. Since he did comment on a public status and even asked if he could share what I am posting, I'm going to assume that linking to the conversation is okay. By the way, go after me if you want to go after anybody. Actually, go after Yehovah--" 'Why strive ye with me? wherefore do ye try the LORD?' " And see how well going after Yehovah goes--I guarantee that it won't go well. "Hear ye now what the LORD saith: Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. 2 Hear, O ye mountains, the LORD'S controversy, and ye enduring rocks, the foundations of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with His people, and He will plead with Israel. 3 O My people, what have I done unto thee? And wherein have I wearied thee? Testify against Me. "

The Dangers of Hillel Campus Communities For Messianic and Certain Other Jews

Obviously, UMBC JSU and Hillel taught me to avoid Hillel Camous Communities at all costs. I've heard horror stories about other branches as well. e.g., A kohen was rejected by Princeton Hillel.  "As a college student, my community has caused me an enormous amount of harm. Well-meaning friends advise me to "just convert," with no comprehension of the feeling of having your Jewish roots pulled out from under you. The treatment by my somewhat-learned peers has practical ramifications as well. For the past year, I have ceased attending Friday night dinners at my Hillel to avoid the embarrassment of declining to lead kiddush and motzi and having to explain why. "

This was originally cited as "2. Student at Princeton Hillel Rejected by Other Students after Discovery Mother was a Convert — This story has a better ending than many such stories. The Half-Jewish Network contacted the rabbi, and it is probable that many other people and groups did as well.

"The rabbi reached out to the student involved, set up an open community meeting on the subject, and created a committee to devise new policies for the future that will cut down on this type of incident. Rabbi Julie Roth’s response was impressive, as most Jewish institutions ignore complaints from half-Jewish members."

Of course, their policy on Messianics is "As a result, Outreach Judaism offers lectures on college campuses and in Jewish communities with multilevel informational resources, campus outreach, counseling, discussion groups, and networking with other Jewish organizations that deal with the dangers of the Messianic movement and cults." 

So, get out of any Hillel Campus Community that you are in if you are a Messianic or certain other (e.g., Karaite, Non-Messianic Patrilineal Jew and Talmudi) type of Jew. "For Israel is not widowed, nor Judah, of his God, of the LORD of hosts; for their land is full of guilt against the Holy One of Israel. 6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and save every man his life, be not cut off in her iniquity; for it is the time of the LORD'S vengeance; He will render unto her a recompense. 7 Babylon hath been a golden cup in LORD'S hand, that made all the earth drunken; the nations have drunk of her wine, therefore the nations are mad."

What Is Working On Shabbat? Does Driving Count?

Working on Shabbat is not any of the following, which needs to be addressed in order to understand what working on Shabbat is:

1. Playing on the computer or any other device.
2. Driving or walking to Shabbat services at your local synagogue or church (To the brats--and I address you later as well--, you ought to get some fresh air and realize that there are Jews and Israelophilic gentiles who observe Shabbat services in churches.).
3. Preparing your food (which is specifically in Tanakh).
4. Kindling fire for non-work purposes (which is implied in Tanakh).
5. Bathing (unless you're bathing after you've engaged in certain activities; which, under the Old Covenant, you're arguably not supposed to be doing on Shabbat).
6. Anything else that isn't intended as work (e.g., flushing a toilet).

Firstly, "[I]t is not as man seeth: for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." If it is not intended as work, it is not work. Secondly, "no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done by you." The first day of Pesach is like Shabbat--you cannot work except for what you need to eat. Some will ask, "Well, what about as gathering the manna was or the Jubilee Year is? Shouldn't you prepare your food the day [or year] before, and double what you would prepare on every other day?" That may not work for everybody. For example, the composition of a food can change even in an hour depending on that which the food is exposed to; and that may not work for someone whose system is intolerant of even the slightest--v.g.--fermentation or temperature change in food, and they may need to eat only fresh foods. So, leaving out that challah for an hour or refrigerating that wine may be breaking piku'ach nefesh--saving a life (e.g., choosing life in the first place)--anyway, and piku'ach nefesh comes first. 

Besides (though this is another discussion), making Shabbat the Queen, the challah, the candle lighting, and the wine were all practices to Sikkut and Kiy'un (like the Star of David was a pagan symbol)--and Messianics can redeem those practices; Non Messianics (arguably) can not. That's part of why at least some Karaites don't follow those practices, and they look for "Rabbi"nical ways to be cleansed from Israel. 

As for the man who was gathering wood on Shabbat--since he needs to be addressed and was going to be brought up, anyway--was intending to work. Again, God looks at intent. As one woman stated (with my emphasis put on her words), "But what constitutes "for real" [Shabbatnikery]? Not using electricity? Not using money? Not watering the crops? Going to synagogue? I think it's clear that one can choose to observe a sabbath in many ways - from spending time with friends and family to not doing job-related work to having people over for a Friday night meal - any statistics will be self-reported and most likely not well-defined here." (Also, to be fair and for example, watering your gluten-free crops for your gluten-intolerant family member or your beloved flowers in your gadren is not work.).

Also, if you can't figure out why I'm linking to certain books in the JPS Tanakh, then you go look up the specific verses on BibleGateway yourself--I don't want to use the New King James Version and get accused of proselytizing by certain brats (and you know who you are; and that's the nicest way that I can describe you, since you are--and I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt by stating that you are--acting like petulant children).
