A Broken Blog Shabbat: First, It's Rosh HaShanah 5772; Second...

I cannot believe that Bill O'Reilly agreed with Geraldo Rivera. Firstly (and we'll get back to Rosh HaShanah later; but firstly regarding Bill O'Reilly), I needed to get up and walk or eat dinner after that-- I just needed to get up. I thought, "Oh my G-d; Bill O'Reilly is going to get so blasted." I started wondering if Jesse Watters shouldn't have gotten him a cold rag for his head, if that's why Maureen left him, and if he is okay. I could've cried.

As for Rosh HaShanah: anyway, it's Rosh HaShanah; HaChodesh Chadash was cited b'Yerushalayim on the night of March 23; so L'Shanah Tovah Tikatevu v'Shabbat Tov-- despite all the Trayvon Martin-George Zimmerman and other chaos in the world.

Necesito Refrescar Mi Espanol...

I need to brush up on my Spanish. Being a Jewish Marylander descended from a Spaniard (perhaps a Sefardic Jew, which we'll never know for sure until we find out who "John McCoy" really was besides the Spain-born man who he tried to hide), I need to get back into learning Spanish. Yo estoy en acuerdo con Geraldo Rivera que necesitamos una nacion bilingue en Ingles y Espanol. Despues de todos, los indios estuvieron aqui primero y hablaron espanol desde los 1500s. By the way, I'm using Google Translate to help me refresh what Spanish I cannot remember and learn what Spanish I don't know-- though I could quit being perezosa and use mi diccionario de espanol y ingles.

Every Time That Tiki Barber Is On Geraldo Rivera's Radio Show Or Podcast...

I skip the segment. I will not listen to a man who cheated on his college sweetheart is was also his then-8-months-pregnant wife and 11-year bride. I will not listen to a man who badmouthed Tom Coughlin. I urge everyone who's reading this to tweet, blog, and do whatever else to tell Geraldo Rivera, KABC and WABC, and whoever else to boycott Tiki Barber unless and until he repents of his brazen adultery and leaving of four young children (including the two girls who were eventually born and rightly kept from having to see him in the hospital).

"Meanwhile on the kosher subject," As I Opined On Geraldo Rivera's Facebook Page...

"[K]osher is expensive; but if Romney cut out exclusively kosher, one can still have an exclusively-kosher meal without everything around being exclusively kosher. For example, when the Kosher Korner at UMBC is closed, I try to choose items that are kosher within the mixed kosher and treif menu at UMBC-- in other words, I try to avoid the treif items on purpose. Besides, the Debbie Schlussels (on the Far Right) and George Soroses (on the Far Left) are the ones propagating that Mitt Romney's an Anti Semite, etc.; so the "Romney cut the kosher" bubbe meise probably came from either a Schlusselite or a Sorosite."

Not That I'm Self Exalting, But...

I'm just as "what you see is what you get" as Geraldo Rivera. I don't hide ish (pun highly intended. If you don't understand what "ish" is in Hebrew and is in English, Google it.). I criticize even my own family and the most central member in the family (next to G-d) to me-- me. I know me as well as I know me, and know me better than I know anyone else. But even G-d knows me better than I know me.

By the way, you have a problem if you're not the most central member of your family (next to G-d) to you. Who are you if you don't know who you are and why you are who you are? For example, I thought that I was a Dark Irish, German-French, Polish-Lithuanian-Czechoslovakian American before I knew that I'm an Anusit-- or was an Anusit. Now because I'm not a Crypto Jew and I even know that I'm a Jew in the first place, I can confidently be a Patrilineally-Jewish Messianic Jew with Ashkenazic Jewish- (hold your breath) Polish-Russian, Polish-Ukrainian-Russian, perhaps Lithuanian-Belorussian, Slovakian-Hungarian, Slovakian-Austrian-Hungarian, and Slovakian-Russian blood (I warned you to hold your breath. I just gave you a long list of the Ashkenazic Jewish blood that I have.).

As for the gentile blood (I think, though some could very well be Jewish blood); it's a long list, too. Want the list? E-mail me or comment on this blog. The list is as extensive and contains just as much information that you might need. By the way, where are relatives e-mailing me? Also by the way, ain't that fun that I'm probably related to Kirk Douglas (nee Issur Danielovich)? (I was being sarcastic about the "fun" part. Having Jack Czarnecki, Mary Gaydos, and Mia Danilowicz-- among others-- as relatives is enough.)

One Can't Blog About Everything; And I Try To Blog Every Day, So...

I'll try my best just to get a few sentences in. First, I agree with Geraldo Rivera that Paula Deen was entirely disingenuous. Second, the case of the Costa Concordia proves why Europe (including Italy) needs to bring back the death penalty. Third, I'm against SOPA and PIPA, and for the Fair Use Doctrine. Fourth (and in conclusion), I'm really busy because I have an orientation at UMBC tomorrow; and I'll be at UMBC virtually all day, and I'm stressed out about the orientation-- including the idea of having to be there all day, since I can't drive.

Anyway, there's my at-least-once-daily blogging entry. Just pray for me and for the orientation (and preferably the Rapture, especially in this meshuga 'olam), v'l'laila tov.

Will Geraldo Rivera Ever Convert To Mormonism? Maybe...

Skip to 34:10. Also read Geraldo's recent article on Mitt Romney. For example, Geraldo outright states, "Like many things 19th Century Mormon, the story is funky. So let me qualify it by saying I have never met a 21st Century Mormon I didn’t like. Further, my impression is that those who practice the religion these days are members of the most impressive religious sect in the country. The hilarious Broadway smash ‘Book of Mormon’ aside, (and whatever credo floats your personal theological boat,) seldom has the world seen a group that so effectively teaches adherents to be the best they can be by doing the best they can for others, as well as themselves."

Let me repeat with emphasis: "Like many things 19th Century Mormon, the story is funky. So let me qualify it by saying I have never met a 21st Century Mormon I didn’t like. Further, my impression is that those who practice the religion these days are members of the most impressive religious sect in the country. Will Geraldo become the Matrilineally-Jewish Puertorriqueno equivalent of Representative Jason Chaffetz? By the way, both have one parent who was in a cult-- although to be fair, Cruz "Allen" Rivera was (as far as I know) was an Evangelical Catholic, thus not a part of traditional (occultic) Roman Catholicism.

Still Not Looking Good For Geraldo; And Meanwhile...

Statistics is not just for me.  As I once said, "If I wanted to be a mathematician or pollster, I would've majored in Math or Math with a Concentration in Statistics and Political Science." As you can see from my YouTube videos and tweets last night, I'm not a mathematician or statician. Anyway, more bad news for "Geraldo":

(1/4/2012 12:33:15 PM)
I really miss the Joe Crummey show...Joe was very entertaining and informative. Geraldo is OK but I just can't listen for 2 hours... or 2 minutes...sorry. Anyone know if, or where Joe is on the air?
G. Stowishoe
(1/4/2012 11:40:11 AM)
I used to listen when Geraldo subbed for Joy Behar about 15 years ago. He was ten times better than her but he was a little boring. Now listening to him for about one hour I am ready to go to sleep. He is to slow for talk radio. I also can never figure out his views. Just when I think hes Left he goes right. Maybe this is good if it is true non-bias...Who knows.
I give it 6 months!

I listened to Geraldo today. He sucked. His whiney voice drives me crazy.
McGurk was great, Simone is great, even the Curtis and Kuby show was great. But, of course, this is all about syndication bucks.
Screw the listeners, right?
Tommyboy

Even from Facebook:

From the WABC Comment Page... More Criticism of Geraldo...

Why was nobody criticizing Erica for trying to use and peddle her influence to get Obama endorsed, meanwhile?

The Night Before Geraldo Rivera's Radio Debut...

These two comments appeared on his WABC radio page:

(1/2/2012 11:18:10 PM)
go to wor 710 10-12
mike gallagher
you'll love him
no nonsense kind of guy
peg

(1/2/2012 7:58:53 AM)
I believe that the city of new york (dcas) should be investigated . they put out hundreds of tests a month
only to enrich themselves. example they give out a test at a rate of 40.00 dollars and up . thousands of people pay and take the exam. when in fact they only want or need to hire 10 or 20 employees. the rest
goes into there pocket. what a bunch of thieves.
by the way when you do get hired , you have to
be trained from scratch. why waste peoples time and money .
One cares not to listen to Geraldo; the other hopes that Geraldo will either expose something or, if he's saying that Geraldo's a New York employee, for Geraldo to go away. As I said, today's not looking good for Geraldo and WABC at 10-12.

Geraldo Rivera and WABC Radio... While I'd Listen To Geraldo....

The majority of these commentators would go through the roof if they ever find out about Geraldo Rivera's association with Atiim "Tiki" and the soon-to-be Traci Johnson Barber. Here's a sampling of "We're pissed and we don't want Geraldo on", in other words:

Geraldo is very different than many television hots sometimes i adore him....especially when goes in to hard places and gets the scoop....like Willowbrook years ago,. war stories, and hurricanes. But he drives me crazy when he says stupid things like recently attacking Glenn Beck. His liberal leanings sometimes sound ridiculous and out of context. Almost trying to hard to be arbitrary and not thinking through what he is actually saying!!!!

(12/30/2011 1:24:12 PM)
Mr. Rivera says he is half Liberal and half Conservative.
Mr. Rivera it doesn't exist, it's like Biden believing in Abortion and telling us he is a Practicing Catholic.
It Doesn't Exist, the Church Laws Exist, Not Biden's A La Carte Religion.
A La Carte Conservatism Desn't Exist.

WABC has lost me for those hours Geraldo is on....
terrible idea.

Jerry ! Jerry! Are you freaking kidding me? Has someone lost their minds, at wabc?

I read 12 pages of comments, only 2 favorable to this idiot. This is another vault incident in the making. Just as bad as Ailes bringing him to FOX.

Start looking for the replacement now! This isn't going to fly.

Why do they want to destroy the radio station. Geraldo could listen to him self for two hours as a tune up. It is over Geraldo, just go sailing and leave us alone
(12/29/2011 10:17:31 PM)
Geraldo is a big mistake. Thanks Scott. Gallagher on WOR is the place for us to go.
Thomas

Mike Gallager is GREAT from 10-12 on 710 WOR.
Scott
(12/29/2011 4:36:13 PM)
I always listen to wabc radio every day from 10 am - NO MORE - I will not tune in until 12 noon from now on. I will find a different station from 10 am to noon.
Please, why are you trying to ruin a good radio station???
dee
(12/29/2011 9:11:58 AM)
What year was that picture of Geraldo taken ? The year he opened the vault??
sami
(12/28/2011 6:46:20 AM)
Well, the 3-4 days a week I listen between 10-12 will now be listening to music. This guy should not have a show on your station.
Another Former Listener
(12/27/2011 11:54:41 AM)
you have got to be kidding, Geraldo does not belong here. I'll tune in at noon.
John Peterson
(12/26/2011 9:14:51 AM)
Letting Steve Malzberg go and replacing him with the accidental Gov. was a very big mistake. Whoever was responsible should have there head examined because the station lost many, many listeners. Now Fox is putting on G. Rivera another mistake. He turns off more people than would listen to him......Stupid changes.

....
(12/14/2011 12:26:32 PM)
Who needs Jerry Rivers - the up & down guy with the so-called tough, street personality? One day he's a lib - the next day he's a conservative. He's a lefty looney who hides behind a veneer of being pro-military. He makes you think that he is the main factor in winning military battles or conquering hurricanes
This guy is going to criticize Gingrich? He's had more dysfuctional emotional moments than the old "stain master," himself, Bill Clinton.

WABC - give me a break! You can be assured that I will never listen to this wise-guy,"let's open the borders to everyone" fradulent impostor.
Anthony T. Mastandrea
(12/14/2011 10:40:48 AM)
Crummey was here in Phoenix earlier and BOMBED...I could have told you that outcome....but who knew that WABC was going to "step in it" and disembalm a lib!

Rivera is a progressive and really a Democrat who covers his leftness with a pseudoaffinity for the military. As a former New Jerseyan, I watched Rivera in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's..he's a lib like Morning "Joke" star, Joe Scarboro....and people will get sick of this schtick sooner than later.
Ed von Richtofen
(12/13/2011 11:01:30 PM)
Big mistake adding Geraldo. He's such a suck up....wishy washy. If he didn't lean left he would have been gone along time ago. Any time I've listened to him I actually get dizzy. He's misguided and has no true core.....actually he's slimy! I could listen any time to Marc Simone. He's real....why on earth didn't you offer the spot to him! Are you as desperate as the Republican Party for a good candidate?
Victoria Saxton
(12/13/2011 7:04:20 PM)
Geraldo will be a welcomed additon to WABC. He is an entertaining and knowledgable reporter who has his own opinions instead of following the most popular public opinion.

guess i will be staying with 710 till 12

(12/13/2011 5:59:26 PM)
I love WABC and often listen daily from 9am to 5pm. (I'm an artist, so your shows keep me company as well as informed and entertained while I work.) I wanted to like Joe Crummey, but never did. You already have some great talent you could have drawn from to fill the 10-Noon time slot -- for example, Bernard McGuirk. Really likeable, Bernard is an authentic voice of New York and he has a wonderful NY accent to boot. I will give Geraldo a try, but am not optimistic.
M. Wilkinson
(12/13/2011 5:10:13 PM)
Have you lost all your marbles, what makes you think Geraldo will bring listeners, he only brings the likes of Jose Baez and they both condone Baby killers, My radio will be tuned off to your station for good!!

...

(12/12/2011 11:01:23 AM)
Geraldo is too much of a bleeding heart liberal.
I for one will not be tuning in from 10 to 12.
Joe Sullivan
(12/12/2011 10:38:06 AM)
A terrible decision. None of the WABC audience is going listen because Geraldo is a knee-jerk liberal. Conservatives will flee from this guy.
Don Rose
(12/12/2011 10:06:56 AM)
Thank you for making my decision on what NOT to spend my time doing between 10:00 - Noon weekdays so much easier.

(12/12/2011 9:59:39 AM)
It's gonna be great! Congratulations, Geraldo! Looking forward to your show,
Debbie
(12/12/2011 9:48:01 AM)
What a mistake. I can't even stand him on TV. Bring back Joe Crummey. You have lost a listener.
Lila Goodman
(12/12/2011 8:21:56 AM)
Bad move. You have lost a listener and I will take as many others as I can with me.

One would think that a broadcasting professional would be able to speck on the radio without once using the empty phrase 'you know' which he used twenty-one times on the Imus in the Morning show...
